The Port House

Dublin
05/04/2024: Been here a few times but the quality of the food has dropped significantly. I had the croquets and they were absolutely incinerated, and the paella was very bland, the Burger was really nice however. Also I think this place is far too dark, it’s very difficult to read the menu. The seats are on top of each other, it felt like the couple next to us were at our table. I doubt very much if I’ll be back.
30/03/2024: Wow I’m Guna be honest I’ve been coming here for years and I love the food and sangria and the service has always been good - today my waiter basically rolled his eyes when I asked to order, I when I asked to pay all I got was a the receipt and “card?” No asking how my food was, eye contact or any smile. I’m a waitress and I totally get dealing with the public, it can be so draining, but 2 out of the 3 people I dealt with acted like I was an inconvenience to them.

Sol y Sombra

06/03/2024: Beautiful setting. An old church converted to a restaurant. Web been here a few times and the food is nice. Pretty expensive for what you are getting. I don't mind paying the extra bit because the atmosphere is so lovely. The service is just fabulous, the server saw we hadn't finished a dish and asked if we liked it, we didnt say we didn't like it, just that we prefered the others. The manager came to our table, apologised that the dish was a bit bland and didn't charge us for it. Now they went above and beyond for us! Excellent experience!
30/12/2023: Really great venue. Nice staff and overall excellent atmosphere

Picaderos

02/04/2024: We must wish luck those who act evil, sooner or later they will need it. A group of cowards making the work place a place to vent their frustrations against the new workers. You have no merit. Roosters of your pen, prepare to receive what you are sowing in the future. I hope someone report what is happen inside.

Peperina Garden Bistro

Dublin
20/02/2024: A Neighborhood Gem to Dine in Ranelagh, Dublin Ireland! Ranelagh is a residential area of Dublin situated south of the Grand Canal. Getting there from Central Dublin is a healthy walk, or quick ride on the Luas. Dubliners are well aware of the cluster of trendy cafes, global restaurants , and gastropubs along the main street, Ranelagh Road. The side streets of Ranelagh are lined with redbrick 19th-century houses, shops, and restaurants. It’s along one of these side streets, among a cluster of shops, where we found Peperina Garden Bistro at 25 Dunville Avenue just west of the Beechwood Luas stop (the second stop south of the Grand Canal on the Luas Green Line). Peperina is a casual bistro serving breakfast, lunch, a renowned weekend brunch, and on Thursday to Saturday from 6:00pm – 9:30pm there is an evening menu offering. They pride themselves on simple consistency. We stopped in for a light mid-day lunch before shopping in a nearby Italian grocer for fresh produce, pasta and sauce for that evening’s homemade dinner at our daughter’s apartment. While the lunch menu has plenty of wonderful offerings to choose from, I jumped on the Soup of the Day because it was seafood chowder, which is my go to lunch item in Ireland. I look for seafood chowder with a light broth and a lot of seafood and vegetables in the mix, but few or no potatoes. I’m searching for the best seafood chowder the country has to offer, and the Peperina chowder will long be on the top contender list. The broth was light, not creamy, and the fish stock was rich with salmon, cod, carrots and celery. The homemade brown bread accompanying the dish was as good as the chowder itself. Outstanding! It was a proper way to enjoy a casual lunch on the 100th anniversary of my late father’s birth. If you are in Dublin, and want to grab a meal outside the tourist zones, I fully recommend what you can find in Ranelagh. Peperina will not disappoint, being listed as one of Dublin’s Best Restaurants 2019 by Hot Press Magazine.

Yolo Gastro Bar & Grill

Kildare
30/03/2024: Yolo is on its second life! Are here years ago and it was seriously meh. Had a pizza this afternoon and it was easily the best pizza in town. Fish tank distracted the kid long enough to eat. Will be back for sure.
09/03/2024: Found a bug in food and all they could do was looking at us, not even a sorry or something, this place should be closed

Tedo

Cork
03/04/2024: I liked the atmosphere as it was not busy during the weekday. I would recommend to take xare of the sode dishes, there are not integral part of the meal.
01/03/2024: First up we were served stale bread Mains came and to say we were disappointed would be a understatement my wife ordered potatoes croquettes which just tasted of nothing also she ordered wild mushroom ravioli (frozen mush) and Arancini which again tasted old and dry. Now onto my Beef enchiladas or should I say Enchilada which I just couldn't finish it as microwaved and again a common thing in this restaurant is tasted of nothing. Such a disappointment as we read reviews and were really looking forward to this meal. Only plus for this is service .

The Grapevine

Kilkenny
30/03/2024: Great vibes with amazing food and drinks. Prices are very resonable. My partner taught in Spain for a while before coming back to Ireland and was so happy to finally see Huevos Rotos on a menu in Ireland. We'd recommend this place to anyone, wish it was in our part of the country. Would visit Kilkenny again just to come back here.
13/03/2024: Were only here for a short time, but a great restaurant
