The best restaurants in Monaghan

02/02/2025: Having seen The squeeling Pig many the rally car over the years, got the opportunity to visit this eve. The menu had caught my eye earlier on line and it lived up to my expectations, the chicken with chirico sauce was delicious, really enjoyed. And the hake dish was thoroughly enjoyed by my better half. The staff were ever so pleasant, not surprising this venue has been on the radar for as long as I remember. Also I noted the list of awards adorning the wall of the town centre venue.

30/12/2024: Had a great meal for me and the family on Sunday 29th December. Reserved a table for around 3 pm, wasn't full so maybe not necessary but by the time we left it was absolutely full. We all had starters, main courses and desserts and everybody was happy with their meal. We had a member of our party that couldnt make the stairs and they have a lift which was great (we were on the 2nd floor). We had a vegatarian with us and they were well catered for although there wasnt a huge selection for them to pick from. the lamb shank was partciularly scrumptious, falling off the bone and so tender. The desserts were good, with the gingerbread cheesecake a lovely way to end the meal, see the little gingerbread men in the attached pictures. All of our party were fully satisfied and didnt need to eat until the next day!!

31/01/2025: Only one gripe, which isn't a reflection on the food, they just need to get some more music instead of one which is on one continuous loop

27/01/2025: It's a shame to see such a grand restaurant so empty, because the food is top draw. The only thing I didn't like about the place was the music loop! Every time I've been in they've played the same song over and over again! It's ridiculous, and the guy just thinks it's hilarious when you point it out.

21/07/2024: Not enough Stars! Amazing American breakfast! Was able to sit outside and have pupochinos with the dogs. They even gave the dogs water as it was a warm day. Service was very quick... class

21/01/2025: Food is amazing. The pancakes are very crispy and the fruits on top taste very fresh. Staff are lovely however one thing that I think I love the most about this placeis the interior. The inside is absolutley beautiful and I absolutley love the tables. I highly reccomend this place!

19/01/2025: Beautiful tasty dishes with so much to choose from on the menu, and they will cater for any particular food options if you ask. Friendly welcoming staff and owners. This family run business has been around for 30 years in Monaghan.

22/10/2024: After reading good reviews, we decided to try Andys. Extremely disappointed, I had the fish and chips, there was some yellow paste between the fish and the batter, fish was off white and gooey. Chips we under cooked. Nice person and was offering samples of home made vodka, however never asked us how our food was. I think 2 full plates going back was obvious.
