Giltraps Pub
Kinnitty
07/03/2025: A lovely pub for drinks with friends. The atmosphere and music was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.
12/01/2025: Nice old pub, very clean and well kept. Also clean toilets which is a rarity in Irish pubs. The Guinness is excellent here too. But €13 for goujons and frozen chips? A total rip off.

Sli Dala Restaurant
Kinnitty
02/04/2025: Great venue, lovely restaurant. We were here for dinner last Friday evening. The menu was impressive and all courses turned out to be exceptionally well presented. The staff were excellent and attentive. In particular Mairead catered for our every need. A memorable dining experience had by all. We'll definitely return again and soon.
09/03/2025: I was on my way to Limerick and stopped for a walk in the forest and hotel grounds. Then noticed the American flag and not the EU flag even though they are in Europe. Besides that flying the flag of a country that is quickly becoming Facist and is siding with Russia who illegally invaded Ukraine. I think it's disgraceful that the hotel would fly the flag.

Slieve Bloom Bar
Kinnitty
08/04/2025: Night started out great and Kieran (owner/bar man) was perfectly friendly. The dog that was hanging out was cool to see in a pub. After listening to him go on about conspiracy theories, which was totally fine, everybody is entitled to what they believe, he started saying the N-word, which I was not okay with. Responding with curiosity vs judgement and asking why that word, he got upset and started asking me what my pronouns were as if it were bad a thing. It was rather unfortunate because I enjoyed talking to him before he started to show his true colors. Not every American is tolerant of hearing racial slurs being tossed around. His bar, his choice, though. Leaving this comment because it left a bad taste and I know that experience doesn't speak for the entirety of Ireland whatsoever. Also, this bar only accepts cash, only place in Ireland I found that did this. I hope the owner can hear this without getting defensive. I wish the best for everyone.
10/01/2025: We accidentally dropped into this cozy brewery bar. We were greeted by a hospitable owner and a wonderful dog. We really liked this place, so authentic and traditional, imbued with Irish history. A cozy fireplace, candles, background Irish music create a special atmosphere of the bar. Very tasty beer, which is brewed right here. We asked if they make food, we were told that unfortunately they do not, however, a couple of minutes later the owner of the bar brought a dish of pork, cheese and delicious bread that he had prepared himself, so that the guests would not be hungry. Absolutely free! It was unexpected and so pleasant and we are very grateful! A soulful bar, we highly recommend visiting and a huge thank you to Kieran for such a wonderful time we spent in this place!
