Mannions
New ross
11/05/2025: It was easy to find and park, but we hadn’t made a reservation because it was early evening—next time, I will call first. The restaurant was starting to get busy during our time there.
The food and service were excellent. It is not the first time we’ve eaten in Mannion’s, and it definitely won’t be the last.
24/04/2025: Fantastic pub for grub. The food is of exceptional quality, at a reasonable price also. The service was efficient, the food arrived within minutes of ordering. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. Drinks were also fresh and high quality. Couldn’t recommend more!

10 West Bistro Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge
Wexford, 20-30£
03/06/2025: We went here on a recent visit to Wexford. The staff were great - friendly and engaging, really nice. The food however was hit and miss. My daughters steak was very nice, she enjoyed it. My special of the day which was fish was in a soup rather then a sauce, totally covered. Husbands risotto was hard and tasted precooked/reheated. We barely ate either of our dishes. Starters lovely and we ate them all. Food also came out very quickly, like was definitely not cooked to order. I think we were out of the place within an hour and that was with 2 courses for 3 people.
29/05/2025: We had visited this venue a few years ago when it was 10 bistro and often reminisced about the great food we had. It was my husband’s birthday tonight so we made the trip to Wexford. We both really enjoyed the starters - tempura prawns and lamb koftas. My husband had the beef rib for main which he loved, however I had the pork belly and honestly it wasn’t great. It tasted like it had sat under a lamp for a few hours and the roast potatoes that’s came with it were inedible- they tasted microwaved/ the pork crackling was rubbery. So disappointing as it wasn’t a cheap night out, hopefully it was just a bad night but honestly it’s not what I expected- I’m surprised the waiters served it as it was visibly unsavoury looking…

Cloch Ban
Taghmon
01/05/2025: Cloch Ban is an absolute Gem. It’s a beautiful cosy old style pub. With lovely friendly staff. And the food was excellent. I had turkey and ham. It was definitely the nicest turkey I’ve ever tasted. It was so tender. My husband had the ham. As he said, he’d give 11/10. We couldn’t recommend this place enough.
27/04/2025: Best place for nice and traditional food

The Library Bar at Brandon House Hotel
New ross
07/05/2025: Worst ever food was there in Nov and again in December and have the misfortune of receiving an afternoon tea voucher 70 euros I might add when 90% of places are 50 euros for two ie Waterford greenway manor and various others hotels waitress took our order and brought some of the drinks had to ask her again for rest 10 min later then she took dinner order same thing brought some of the starters and missed out on one we were half way through our starters and had to ask her again for the starter that she missed as a result there were two stakes for mains and I can only presume because they had to wait on person who got late starter to finish the stake came out like dried out to a crisp expected better from a hotel

The Tavern Bar
Curracloe
15/03/2025: Got the chicken sizzlers dish with rice. It may aswell of been a flavorless gravy that was on the chicken. Left basically the full dish. Wouldn't be going back there again for food.

The Ivy Bar & Cafe
Gorey
17/07/2024: Had carvery lunch in the ivy bar on Sunday, was beautiful couldn't fault it.
However went for an evening meal later in the week, ordered a medium fillet steak and a Korean chicken burger, steak arrived went done close to burnt, chicken burger also burnt and missing half its toppings. Took over half an hour to come out, desperately slow. Eventually got the attention of a waiter who took it back and returned 10 minutes later to say they are making a replacement, the manager Eventually came down with a very fake apology, 25 minutes later a medium steak which was nice arrived, 55 minutes for a medium steak isn't acceptable, the staff on the till new asked had the manager mentioned a discount which she happened, so she had to check and the instruction to her was take off 4 euro off a 30 quid steak, not acceptable won't be back.

Golden Anchor
05/09/2024: We read great reviews about the golden anchor bar on Facebook. So we decided to take a trip to check it out . We weren't disappointed. Sean and the team run a great business. Food is great ,you would have to get there early or you won't get a seat . We stayed for a few days on there campsite. It was excellent value, we had electric , running water and all amenities on the site . For €15 per night and close to the beach, beautiful views .
We will definitely be back .
Thank you Sean .
09/08/2024: I was travelling the sunny south east with my two little girl's in a camper van. We had pulled up off road near the beach for the night and I got speaking to a local man fishing with his two sons. He informed me about the Golden Anchor Pub up the road having camper facilities and even called the owner for me. I got there to be met by the older barman who's name escapes me now but a more helpful gentleman you couldn't wish to meet. He was so apologetic that they had just stopped serving food and even offered to get me a takeaway delivered. No need we had eaten. The owner was sitting at a table with other people so I just acknowledged him and said thanks. Anyway, €15 for the night, electricity, water, rubbish and toilet disposal all inclusive. Very spacious camper van area. Great value. Only one minor suggestion, CULL the crows, too early a wake up call.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
