Angler's Rest in Ballyconnell

I went in here for food with my husband a week ago. The staff were great especially the bar guy. The food was really good and the Christmas atmosphere was really lovely. If I'm back in the area I will be sure to eat here again. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.

The best entrecôte steak I have had in years. Super thick, juicy, garlic butter and cooked to perfection. Restaurant and Bar is really nice

Francis McGoldrick , I hope you get your new knee. Had a nice packet of chips and a coke at the bar after sitting in the restaurant around an hour and no one came to take an order of food. I appreciate it was busy. I have never experienced anything like it before and I hope it doesn't happen again. I was going for the most expensive dish that this restaurant is famous for ,but ended up with a packet of chips and a bottle of coke.

I went for dinner yesterday in the Anglers. The food was phenomenal, and the service was great! I was able to take my dog into the restaurant with me, and she got her own bowl of water and a bowl of cocktail sausages (free of charge!) The portion sizes are so generous, and very affordable as well! There's such a cosy atmosphere in the bar/restaurant as well. No loud music blasting meant I was able to hear my company and have a nice conversation without having to shout! It is by far the best place to eat in Ballyconnell. It was so lovely to have a place where my emotional support dog is welcomed!! 10/10 I'd recommend it to anybody!

Disappointed asked for minute steak gluten free which would ordinarily come with chips mushrooms mushy peas and onion rings , unable to have chips as cooked in same fryer as fish unable to have onion rings unable to have mushy peas as cooke in same fryer as noodles offered garlic gratin potatoes no alternative offered did mention when checked half way through and 5 mins later deep fried veg an peas served got the bill and charged extra €6.50 for the garlic potatoes which considering could not have anything else was unfair did mention to server who reluctantly refunded I would not recommend did not stay for dessert option,

Can't comment on rooms as we didn't stay here. My OH and I decided to have a meal on a Friday night. I had Pizza, which was fresh and delicious and OH had the fillet steak, this was enormous, succulent and tasty. Staff are helpful and friendly. Restaurant pleasant with great atmosphere.Definitely going back.
