Aqua in Dublin

You pay for the location and views. The food is average and the decor feels tired in some respects such as the wooden table on the entry to the main restaurant upstairs ( appeared to be damaged and looks to have seen better days). It's little things like that that create the perception. I've been to Aqua several times, once on my own volition and then twice as part of other people's events and feel that my review is based on several experiences. As said, it's pricey, you're paying for the location and views and the cost of running restaurants is not cheap which puts context to price but feel the value for me is not there

Great food, great service, lovely surroundings and fabulous views. A little pricey but if everything is as good as it is you can overlook that.

This is a fabulous restaurant which benefits from a panoramic view of the harbour and the bay and enjoys beautiful sunsets. The service is great and the staff are welcoming and friendly. As for the food - the Chowder was all I hoped for and the fish pie superb. You can tell a good restaurant, when the diners are not eating, they are smiling. Would definitely recommend.

Incredible risotto, I highly suggest it. Lovely service and ambience.

We are only back from our meal and have to say I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food and flavors were delicious. The staff were so Intentive. Top marks to the chief 😀 well worth the money and would definitely be returning again. Keep up the good work all 😃

I have already been dining at the Aqua restaurant, it was one of the best fish restaurant I'd found in Dublin area so far (2022). So I was happy to go back for my Valentine's dinner (2025). The ambience and service are still good but the food quality took a really hard hit. The menu is not anymore different but a copy paste from any other restaurant in Ireland and the food quality completely worse than a busy pub. The fried food was like a sponge full of oil, usually it happens when the oil is cold. The special of the day "linguine with seafood" was tasteless and the pasta so overcooked that arrived already in small pieces, I was not even able to eat with the fork, I needed the spoon. But I had to leave most of it, I just picked the 2 prawns and the 8 mussels in the whole plate. I paid the full bill obviously and only mentioned to the waiter about the pasta (because he cared enough to ask) but I'm not gonna try again. Too much expensive to try and wait the chef to learn how to cook.

Whether it was the welcome, the view, the service or the food, everything was perfect. We had a great time and a big thank you to the person who welcomed us in French 🙏🏻

After a short boat trip, we decided to stay and eat at the port... well we had a great time, meal and magnificent setting. .. the staff at the top, a big thank you to our French waiter who was able to advise us on the dishes. I recommend this restaurant and we will return there on our next trip to Dublin. See you soon!

Ett perfekt ställe för allt som har kopplingar till havets meny. Otroligt meny att välja mellan. Stället är fantastiskt tills solen går ner, vi kom lite sen och såg inget genom dom mörka fönstren, en sommardag är nog perfekt. Allt smakade mycket bra, lite låg salthalt på det mesta, men å andra sidan den lättast kryddan att komplettera med. Ett häftigt ställe att rekommendera ett besök till.

Our booking was for 7.30pm however we phoned to ask to put it back to 8.15pm as we were delayed, which wasn’t an issue. When we arrived we were the only guests in the restaurant, to be honest if I was them I would have closed. We weren’t in any way rushed and enjoyed some very good food: baked goats cheese and a trio of seafood to start, beautifully presented and very tasty. We both had Dover sole to follow, one small and one medium portion, we asked for it on the bone and it was absolutely delicious, served with roasted potatoes which was perfect to mop up the really tasty sauce. The service was great and the food delicious. We took one star off as it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant, I couldn’t wait to put my coat back on. We would recommend and will definitely return (in the summer!).
