This review relates to breakfast only. The bistro is attached to the hotel next door. The Irish breakfast is one of the cheapest you’ll find in this part of town. But not the best. It’s laid out fussily on a tray with beans in a separate little jug, so you’re not getting a very traditional experience. There’s great bread in Ireland, but the toast here is just basic tasteless sliced, so a missed opportunity. The mushrooms - also in a fussy pot at the side were really old-tasting. The place is busy as it’s a popular tourist hotel, and they must get through a lot of breakfasts, so no excuse not to have the freshest of mushrooms. Coffee ok, but not exciting. This is busy at breakfast, efficient service, but it feels like you’re on a bit of a conveyor belt.
*thanks for the reply and I’m sure I’ll try you again when I’m in Dublin. That’s good to know to know you offer other breads - I certainly wasn’t offered soda bread - would be a great idea. I’d check your suppliers if that’s what they’re sending you as fresh mushrooms.
**I did indeed go back. Mushrooms were fresh this time, which was much better. Definitely wasn’t offered any soda bread, though.

Excellent food, we had the Stew and Lamb Shank, both to recommend. Service fantastic. Wine selection can be better. And don't forget their incredible selection of Irish Whiskey, you can probably get a taste of almost every brand!

The four stars are given for good service and delicious food in a cozy atmosphere with good music.
Unfortunately we have to deduct a star because our croissant at breakfast was probably from the previous day.

The service and food were wonderful. The atmosphere, calm and welcoming, invited us to feel even more pleased with the food we were going to taste. I highlight the "beef steak", with an enormously pleasant flavor and the "stew" with a Guiness sauce that I loved.
The waitress with blonde hair, charming and helpful, cheerfully and patiently (because we are not English speakers) explained to us that if we mixed the mashed potatoes with the butter, the texture would be creamier. Since then, I do it recurrently every time I order that dish.
In short, a success for a light lunch or also a heavy one. Thank you 😊
