John Dory appetizer was exceptional. Mains highlights were the duck, beef and lamb that our party had. All cooked and seasoned perfectly. Desert trolley has a nice range of options to round off the night. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a lovely rustic birthday dinner! Staff were brilliant and attentive! Highly recommended!

We only ate here, so I can't rate the rooms. The food and service are very good, and I plan to eat here again.

Xmas fair was brilliant. Great music food and crafts. Very festive.

Ok, not the night time tasting menu which I believe is good but Sunday lunch review. The good points- lovely linen and cutlery, nice setting, good vibes,great atmosphere and lovely staff. €65 for a very average lunch. The starters chosen- fish in batter and pumpkin risotto were delicious and generous in size. Good brown bread and butter accompanied. Main courses were not good- the chicken was mainly the meat from legs and wing. It looked like they had run out of breast meat and put the scrag end of the chicken on the plate. The lamb looked terrible- fatty and pale. Mash and accompanying carrots were shown a bit of love. The famous dessert trolley came around and we were given the stingiest portion with no encouragement to try all or taste any other desserts. Totally underwhelming though the bite sized lemon meringue is delish. Can do better. Not worth the €300 for four average Sunday lunches.

Light lunch served Monday to Saturday. Ballymaloe is famous around the world for the quality of their food, and the lunch, though simple, lives up to this reputation. Prices are a couple of euro more expensive than you'd find in a typical hotel, but not enough to put anyone off. Nice conservatory dining room and lots of interesting walks in the grounds.
