They serve a great fish & chips. You can choose regular or large. Served with a very tasty salad , mushy peas & a geat tartar sauce. Very tasty light battered cod. Exceptional views across the bay to County Clare. Outside seating area.
Service was fast & pleasant. Ate at lunchtime.

A lovely spot on the wild Atlantic way. Staff are really friendly & even got us fed before the kitchen closed as we arrived late on our first visit. Portions were massive but hearty. Good options on the menu for adults and kids and i can only imagine the views in the summer. Left our hotel to eat here for a second night that's how good it was.

I visited PádraicÃns Gastropub in Galway some time ago, and overall, it was a memorable experience, especially for its location and atmosphere. Situated right by the beach, the setting is absolutely beautiful and gives the place a relaxed, scenic charm that’s hard to beat.
The ambiance has that classic Irish gastropub feel — warm, lively, and welcoming. It’s a nice spot whether you’re visiting with friends or family, and the outdoor seating adds a lot to the overall experience, especially on a good day.
The menu offers a solid range of Irish and pub-style dishes, including seafood, which is what the place is quite known for. There’s a good variety to choose from, and while some dishes can be quite enjoyable, the quality can feel a bit inconsistent at times. Some visitors have noted that certain items, like fish dishes or chowder, didn’t always meet expectations in terms of flavour or portion size.
Service is generally decent and friendly, though during busy periods it can be a bit slow or less attentive. There have been instances where delays or minor mix-ups affected the experience, but overall the staff are approachable and try to accommodate guests.
One thing to keep in mind is that prices can feel slightly on the higher side for what’s offered, especially if the food doesn’t fully match expectations.
That said, the location, atmosphere, and overall vibe of the place still make it worth a visit. With a bit more consistency in food quality and service, it could easily stand out as one of the top gastropub experiences in the Galway area.
Overall, a lovely spot for the views and ambiance, with good potential for an even better dining experience.

Not bad, but very average. Overrated and overpriced
PádraicÃns Gastropub, near Galway, is a place that leaves its mark. The atmosphere is authentic and deeply Irish, made even more evocative by the proximity of the ocean, which gives the place an almost adventurous charm. When the wind whips through the sea-facing windows, the experience becomes even more intense and memorable.
The kitchen offers well-prepared traditional dishes, rich in flavor and true to local tradition. Irish and local beers pair perfectly with the food, enhancing the flavors of each course and making the meal even more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, in a setting that combines good food, atmosphere, and the unique character of the Irish coast.
