Barrys of Douglas in Cork

Lovely ambience. We went for Sunday lunch and there was a mixed age group of clientele - couples to large family groups. The staff were very attentive and our food arrived promptly and piping hot. The portions are very generous! We just about managed to clear our plates (but still had room for a dessert!) 🤭

Very tasty meal, I had the salmon which was cooked and presented well, with nice potato cake and vegetables with a lovely sauce. The service was very attentive from the waitress and the Barman.

From the moment we booked a table the experience was exceptional. I was able to book a table online at short notice, and at a very busy time on a Saturday night for 7.15pm. On arrival we received a genuinely warm and welcoming greeting before being shown straight to our reserved table. Service throughout was absolutely exemplary. The lady who took our order was outstanding, professional, efficient and highly attentive without ever being intrusive. She kept a watchful eye on the room, glancing frequently at the tables and ensured all was ok, she brought out bottles of water if needed, cleared plates seamlessly and had the bill brought to the table without delay. It was a masterclass in front-of-house service. (I am so sorry i dont know her name). The till staff were equally attentive, making sure we were being looked after and were very pleasant, contributing to an overall feeling of calm, organised excellence. The food was divine. The feather blade beef was incredibly flavoursome, i could taste the different flavours of everything which was a real experience, the beef was melt-in-the-mouth. My husband had the steak sandwich was he devoured in no time, it was lovely. The restaurant itself was immaculate. The toilets were spotlessly clean, which always reflects the standards behind the scenes. The atmosphere inside was bright, open, welcoming and relaxed, making the entire visit thoroughly enjoyable. This was a seamless, polished service from start to finish, the kind of experience that sets the benchmark for hospitality. A credit to the entire team. We will absolutely be back and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Just popped in for a quick afternoon bite on a wet day. Ordered the lentil snd chickpea veggie burger and it was the best veggie burger I've ever had, simply delicious. I'll be back.

We were blown away by the whole experience at Barry’s on New years evening. A packed, relaxed restaurant bringing impeccable service and food. We were a family of 12 for dinner and all went so smoothly from the minute we arrived to leaving. Fair play to staff and and management for running an Amazing seamless operation. The restaurant was busy as it’s December. Great atmosphere, beautiful decorations, courteous staff, delicious food, value for money. We’ve been before and we’ll definitely will be back.
