I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bierhaus, situated on Pope's Quay in Cork. As an enthusiast of both local history and fine beverages, I found this establishment to be a remarkable addition to the city's vibrant hospitality scene. Established in 2006, it has clearly cemented its reputation as a premier destination for craft beer. The primary draw of The Bierhaus is, unequivocally, its extraordinary selection of libations. The sheer volume and variety are staggering, boasting over 220 beers. This includes an impressive 30 draught taps, with a commendable 24 rotating guest lines, alongside a cask option. It is a veritable haven for those seeking to explore beyond the standard offerings. The curation of the beer menu is exceptional. It provides a comprehensive representation of Irish craft brewing, featuring independent producers such as Kinnegar, The White Hag, and 9 White Deer. Furthermore, the international selection is robust, encompassing everything from established European classics like Budvar and Erdinger to cutting-edge craft brands and a strong showing of Belgian ales. For those with a penchant for other spirits, the back bar also houses a very decent whisky collection. What truly elevates the experience at The Bierhaus, however, is the standard of service. The staff are not merely servers but knowledgeable guides. Faced with such a vast array of choices, it would be easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet, the personnel demonstrate a genuine passion for their product and an impressive ability to direct patrons towards a beer that will suit their specific palate. Their recommendations are thoughtful and precise, ensuring that every selection is a successful one. A lovely and welcoming bar, all the beer varieties and prices are displayed on a chalkboard. I came across it looking for pubs in Cork that sell gluten-free beer, and here I found a real draft beer. It had been years since I'd had a good dark beer, and even better served as a pint. The service is friendly and fast. You can go alone or with friends without any problems; they even have simple card games to pass the time while you enjoy your beer. The restrooms are spotless. They don't sell food, just potato chips. They also sell cocktails, but I haven't tried them. There's a variety of whiskeys; Cork (local whisky) is €5.

A classic, authentic Irish pub. When we visited, there was a hurling match on, which was a very interesting experience. The drinks were quite nice and affordable; we paid €15 for 3 beers.

Didn't have pilsner on the tap but still at least gave us bottles. Nice owner. Prices are aight for Cork
