Billy Byrnes in Kilkenny

We ate here many times on our trip to Kilkenny from the states. Loved it

We were on a flying visit to Kilkenny & Billy Byrnes came highly recommended, it most definitely didn’t disappoint. Delicious food served with a smile. The manager Ruta really stood out, very warm & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We’ll be back’

I have dined here on several occasions recently. The service is very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is a large bar and restaurant with an open area out back. I also think there is some accommodation here too. The premises is very clean and the layout is ideal. Location wise it is perfectly situated near McDonagh junction railway station and shopping centre and also not too far from the city centre, 5 min walk. The food is very tasty, servings are good and big. Like everywhere else, prices have gone up however the quality of food makes up for that. I will definitely return again for the fish and chips, it was very good.

We came for a round of drinks and some food to accompany. Pizza was just ok (O'Sullivans and Cafe 500 beat you on every side). We were sat in the intermediate room, which needs to be warmer, as at the moment it feels like sitting in a dark basement. Pints and cocktails slightly overpriced. Service good.

Check in at the pub was a breeze with the friendly and cordial staff. Room was clean and the shower had pressure. Food and service in the pub was great, we both got the burger which was exceptional. Unfortunately the plumbing decided to give out in the evening resulting in no water in the apartments. There was a plumber on the scene very quickly, staying until nearly midnight, with partial restoration of water. Staff kept us informed throughout. However the plumbing issue led to a water leak which set off the fire alarm at 5 AM. This brought the fire brigade as well as Billy himself. Billy was extremely apologetic and actually refunded our stay and comped our breakfast that morning. It was quite an adventure and we made friends with some of the other guests. Considering that the plumbing issues are now all resolved, I would not hesitate to recommend this guesthouse to others. 5 out of 5 for customer satisfaction.

Great Pub with loads of Events going on. Food is great. Super location, best parking in town.

We went for the apartment, it was lovely and spacious, clean , staff were really lovely, breakfast was a feast!deffo would go there again
