Bistro 53 in Maynooth

Visited Bistro 53 Maynooth and the food genuinely blew us away. The sea bass was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, served on a beautiful risotto with a vibrant pesto sauce, absolutely stunning. The crispy pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth with a rich glossy sauce and creamy mash, just incredible. Both mains were easily 10/10. Desserts kept up the same standard, the tiramisu was classic and indulgent, beautifully presented with a coffee drizzle, and the sticky toffee pudding was warm, gooey, and sinfully good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Could not fault either. The atmosphere is decent and comfortable enough. Service was a little slow to get going at the start but the staff really came into their stride as the time went on and were genuinely lovely by the end. Overall a brilliant dining experience, the food alone makes it absolutely worth a visit. Will definitely be back!

We came yesterday the food was amazing! My partner and son we all had starters, mains, shared desert and each course was impeccable. The Aranchini is beautiful, I had the tagliatelle with mushroom sauce and chicken probably one of my favorite dishes here along with there steak. Mihai hope his name is spelled right. Is lovely very professional with a warm and attentive manner. All the staff are very pleasant and professional. Compliments to the chef for the fab food yesterday.

Really delicious food, pleasant staff and great cocktails

We came here with friends and absolutely loved it. I can’t describe how delicious my pasta was, and then the tiramisu was just amazing 😋. The portion was very generous, and I was completely full afterwards. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. I genuinely recommend this place! ⭐️

Bistro 53 was a somewhat hit-and-miss experience. The restaurant clearly has potential, but on this occasion the overall visit felt uneven. The service standard could be improved. Friendly interaction is always welcome, but there is a line between light-hearted humour and comments that feel overly familiar or slightly disrespectful. On more than one occasion, the attempts at joking crossed that line, which took away from the overall experience. The food was acceptable, but not particularly memorable. The risotto with scallops was disappointing: the scallops were overcooked, while the risotto itself was undercooked. The lamb dish was better and enjoyable, though still not exceptional. The ambience was also fairly average and did not quite create the warm or refined dining experience one might expect. Ratings: Ambience: 2/5 Service: 2/5 Food: 3/5 Overall, Bistro 53 has potential, but would benefit from more polished service, better attention to detail in the kitchen, and a more consistent atmosphere. I would still be willing to return and give them a second chance, as there is clearly room for improvement and I hope the experience may be better on another visit. Dr TJ Mohamad

I love the lunch menu options during the week — such a nice spot for a catch-up. The seafood dishes were gorgeous, especially the sea bass and the mussels. My friend really enjoyed the chicken supreme as well. And definitely don’t skip dessert: the chocolate cake, apple crumble, and sticky toffee pudding were all absolutely delicious. A very welcoming staff & attentive. A lovely place with great food and a warm atmosphere.

Had two course lunch with the family recently. We all had something different and the quality was first class. Mussels were fantastic and the fish I had was lovely. Would recommend to anyone as great variety of starters and mains with no supplment. Fantastic value and top quality.

We went for the lunch as was advertised outside €17.95 for 2meals, but when we sat by our table’s menu prices were different €18.95 for 2meals. I find that misleading for customers. Otherwise then that atmosphere and service was perfect. Its high-class restaurant with excellent presentation and quality of food. Definitely food made not by ordinary chef. I would highly recommend this place to visit if you’re food gurman of Mediterranean, but don’t bring your kids or teenagers with you. Better send them next door straight away...
