Black Bull Inn in Drogheda

We’ve had both good and bad experiences with food in the Black Bull. At the start we went every couple of weeks and couldn’t fault it. But since before Christmas, probably around October we’ve noticed a decline in the quality of the food being served and with the service. We keep saying let’s give it one more chance and end up regretting it. I don’t like writing bad or average reviews but this is one I feel is needed and I hope the owners take it on board and it improves as we will probably give it one last try. Shame as for me it’s always been a drogheda institution

First time having dinner at the Black Bull and it did not disappoint. We ordered the prawns for starters and the slow cooked beef featherblade for our mains. The beef was so tender and full of flavour, it was delicious. Our meals came out in good time and the staff were very attentive. A table beside the fire was a bonus! Would highly recommend!

Liked the food, atmosphere and service. Would give it 4,5* if possible, but not as good to be a 5 stars hero.

6 of us had a dinner in the black bull and the food and service was fantastic. There was one vegan in our party and they had a great vegan menu with lots of options. The vegan Shepards pie was so tasty. The steak sandwich and chicken curry were rated so highly too. We can’t wait to go back. A really enjoyable dining experience and both bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient.

Celebrated my birthday here whilst visiting the area. The food was fantastic, as were the staff. Highly recommend a visit and the chicken wings with rum & coke sauce are a must!

Three of us ordered the sirloin steaks and they were hard to chew.
