Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, and a decor to suit. If your ever passing through, spot for a pint and lunch or dinner, if your a local you already know this place is a gem.

Fabulous atmosphere and staff are so plesent

I attend the black bull regularly , the food is always gorgeous! The atmosphere is great and the waitress’ & bar staff are excellent and attentive. In particular the lovely Emma who always goes above and beyond is always so bubbly! Even when manning the bar and seating area alone she is always fantastic , couldn’t recommend more!

The Black Bull is Drogheda’s best kept secret. An old coach house style establishment that balances a traditional setting with the modern gastropub experiences perfectly. The Guinness is always good and the wine list will tickle any of your party’s vino lovers. The menu is extensive with a super mish mash of culinary delights expertly prepared by a head chef with ambition. I recommend the butterfly prawn, baked haloumi and orange salad, particularly satisfying in one of their sun soaked beer gardens. But, if you’re going, go for the staff. The service is everything, warm and welcoming, attentive and hospitable which unfortunately is a dying art in the Irish pub trade. The Black Bull is a solid alternate to any place you can think of in Drogheda, Blackrock, Bettystown, Duleek or Laytown.

Excellent restaurant in Drogheda, perhaps the best. Good atmosphere, nice decoration, very good service and great cuisine. It has parking for customers and facilities very suitable (even sauna). There is music on the weekends and the atmosphere is very pleasant, we will surely return on our next visit to Ireland. I highly recommend it.

Food was great as always, The girl serving us, Emma, was absolutely lovely and so attentive to what we asked for, she was a pleasure. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Chicken Supreme was really supreme 😋

Fab food, great staff, great for sports! 2nd visit not so good, food and service still great but so noisy, music in restaurant very loud but competing with loud dance music from function area. Just too loud.

Friendly Staff , delicious food and a lovely experience. I had a very tasty salad with cheese beetroot and walnuts. Then I had the fish & chips and all were delicious and very well presented. The service and friendly staff were excellent. This is a well run establishment and the prices are very reasonable . I'm looking forward to my visit again tomorrow evening. The Black Bull was recommended by the the local Hotel close by , Boyne Valley Hotel where I am staying and its a great hotel also and only a short walk away. Well done to all at the Black Bull.
