A great pub to spend a few hours in the company of friends, tasting excellent beers and even eating some local specialties.

The Bleeding Horse is one of those places that feels older than its own walls. You step inside and the outside world seems to fall away a little too easily, replaced by a low, steady murmur that feels almost deliberate. The kind of sound a room makes when it has been paying attention for a very long time.
The light settles in warm patches across the timber, but there’s a weight beneath it — not oppressive, just present. You can sense the years in the way the floor shifts underfoot, in the quiet confidence of the bar, in the way conversations seem to fold into the space rather than rise above it. Nothing dramatic. Just that subtle awareness that the place has seen more nights than anyone cares to count.
Later in the evening, there’s a moment when the atmosphere changes. A guitar case leaning against a wall. A soft check of a microphone. No announcement, no call for attention — just a quiet preparation, as though the room has agreed to let something unfold. When the music begins, it doesn’t break the mood. It threads through it, giving the night a pulse you hadn’t noticed was missing.
The Bleeding Horse doesn’t try to charm you. It doesn’t need to. It has that calm, watchful presence — the kind of place where you sit down meaning to stay for one drink and find yourself lingering, not because anything demands your attention, but because something in the room holds it.
A pub with history, yes. But more than that, a pub with memory — and a way of making you feel, quietly and without insistence, that you’ve stepped into a night already in motion.

Classic Dublin pub with a huge line of taps, including Guinness, of course. We had Beef and Guinness Stew and it was killer.

The place is fantastic, splendid, beautiful... And the live music makes it even better. I went there for dinner: the chicken wings were very good, but the rest of the food needs some updating. The service, in my opinion, doesn't live up to the place and its name, but it's still acceptable. A visit is recommended, though.
