Blue Haven Restaurant in Kinsale

One of the best lunches we have ever had anywhere in the world! Every single dish we ordered was spectacular. The seafood chowder and chicken tikka are phenomenal!! The service was very friendly but on the slower side so I don’t recommend this place if you’re in a rush. But otherwise it is a must go!

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at The Blue Haven’s weekly Indian Pop-Up Thursday. Each week, the chef creates a tasting menu showcasing a different region of India, and last night’s menu took us to West Bengal and Kolkata. Highlights included the Kolkata chicken drumstick biryani, rich chicken kosha, fish kalia and chingri macher bora, followed by a lovely moong daler payesh for dessert. Everything was full of flavour, wonderfully varied and very filling—easily some of the tastiest Indian food we’ve had in Ireland. The service was excellent too: attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, with the team kindly talking us through every dish. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for a memorable Indian meal in Kinsale. It has already become a Thursday-night fixture in our house!

The Blue Haven is one of those places that never let you down, be it a toasted sandwich...delicious, or a plate of mussels, outstanding. Highly recommend it.

The mussels were delicious in their white wine sauce. I loved the chowder as well.

Has a delicious meal here last Saturday evening. Our waitress had longish red hair and was fabulous, sorry I didn’t catch your name properly but it sounded maybe Eastern European? A true delight and very attentive. The monkfish scampi is extremely tasty, most of the table had fish & chips (they have GF option also) and I had the Atlantic prawn toast. Highly recommend the spring retriever cocktail also, very refreshing and not too sweet at all. Great for a group, will be back !!

Stopped for a drink and a light bite. Lovely staff, nice food, beautiful atmosphere - but paid €15 for monkfish scampi, expected a good sized snack, but got 5 pieces with a simple salad. I understand Irish businesses are under pressure, but you need to ensure you’re bringing value for money.
