Blue Serenade in Castlebar legal

My wife and I had a great meal last year when visiting the area. We decidied we must eat at Blue Serenade again. We booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Peter is wonderful as a host and a character. We shared a bowel of mussells as a starter, followed by mains of Lamb Shank, and Chicken Duxelle. We both had Chocolate Orange Cheesecake as a dessert. For drinks we shared a bottle of Merlot. it was a very relaxed meal, - be prepared to have a wait between each course. The food is obviously freshly cooked to ordered. High quality standard of food, and wine. The total bill came to €94.50 which we thought was fanstastic value for the evening. The restuarant is small and intimate, with plenty of character. The choice of music is 1970', 80's eske which is line with the whole experience. A bit quirky but brilliant all round.

Delicious food for a good price. Food came very quickly and was a good portion. Friendly staff. Cash payment preferred, but can also be paid by card. Highly recommended!

Great music selection creating a great atmosphere. The food was lovely, staff very friendly. Everything great! I recommend the chicken coxelle.

This was the most bizarre experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The host, Peter, was welcoming and took us to our table. We ordered our drink and meal then waited almost an hour for our starters to arrive. We were however, entertained by the craziness of the host. Thankfully we were not in a hurry. The starters were fine if not 5 star. The mains arrived not an hour later but the food was good. This place reminds me of Fawlty Towers but it is run by Manuel not Basil. It was so so crazy I'd go back. In short, bizarre service but good food. Book very early if you want to go to pub after !!

A very warm welcome accompanied by beautiful delicious food cooked perfectly by an obviously very talented chef. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Blue Serenade and we look forward to the next time. Thank you for a lovely evening.

My wife and I had a lovely evening at this restaurant, Peter the host was great, can't fault this place, great romantic dinner for two, food was sensational, the Garlic mushrooms are must , and the special fish platter is a really nice tasty dish, good wine choices, music was very nice.
