Food and service were excellent. My only complaint was that the dining room was freezing cold!

Incredibly good value for a good burger

Wow! The burgers here are absolutely fantastic. Smash burgers done right! I've toured 3 smash burger places in Galway and 2 in Dublin and this is top 2, if not top. The Garlic Parmesan fries are unreal also. Highly highly reccomend the burgers!

Bovine is an upstairs restaurant on the main street of Portloaise. The decor is a combination of stone and white washed walls. It has that rustic feel about it. The staff were busy they had a number of tables including a party of 8. We ordered the Hot Honey Buffalo Chicken Tenders as a starter and got Crispy Chilli Chicken Tenders. We ate them anyway, they were delicious, really good. Then we had the Black & Blue burger it had 2 smashed patties, Clonakilty black pudding, Cashel blue cheese, lettuce, pickles, Bovine sauce and Ballymaloe relish and I have to say it was the best burger I have ever eaten. Accompanied with Garlic Parmesan Fries and absolutely delicious, really tasty. We really enjoyed the food, the wait between courses was long though, we were hungry and from time of arrival it was 50 minutes before we got our main meal.

best burger in Ireland now imo. Love our one in Kilkenny but this one was extra special. The staff were lovely, attentive and chatty! Room as a little cold on a horrible windy day is my only complaint! 10/10 will be there again ;)
