I had the baked Hake, which was a very generous portion with a lovely creamy sauce. I would have to say that it was slightly dry and so were the mashed potatoes, but overall, very good food. Stove was burning bright, and there was a good-natured group beside us. So the atmosphere was jolly and warm.

The best leek and potato soup I’ve ever had. Found this place when we were driving and stopped in for a quick bite and was surprised by the soup. The toasty was average but the experience was made memorable by the delicious soup.

Absolutely ok for lunch. One shouldn't expect miracles. More like a canteen with service but I don't want to badmouth it either. It's just ok.

Visiting Ireland for the first time and had the best dining experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff were beyond lovely, our waitress kindly remembered our order on the second visit which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the sirloin steak, beef burger, fish and chips and apple crumble and really enjoyed all of these. The prices are very reasonable and there are many options on the menu for those with dietary requirements and children. Loved the experience here.

12/10/2024: A first time visit for The Ordinarypunter, and we weren't disappointed Service was exceptional. It was a joy to receive good Irish hospitality and attentive staff. Food was ok. Nothing that made me want to say wow! It was all good, and I recommend int but not exceptional. I liked it overall. A couple of points to note: this is a genuine review from a real person. be wary of some of the reviews on TA that are just generic glowing 5 star reviews. They look pretty bogus the portions are very large (we couldn't finish our main courses) so you might just want to share a starter or such like
