Sol y Sombra
Killorglin
03/04/2026: 10 Bridge Street is an amazing wedding venue! Cliodhna was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. The food is so good! I cannot recommend it highly enough.
03/04/2026: We got married in 10 Bridge Street last year and it was an outstanding venue and we couldn't have been more thankful to Cliodhna and all her team who were so helpful with every request to make it an unforgettable day. Her calmness and friendly nature really helped set us at ease so that we were excited about making our plans instead of feeling any stress or worry. The uniqueness drew us to the venue but meeting their team made us know this was the place for us.
Everything was so well organised so we could just spend our time enjoying ourselves with nothing to worry about. Our wish was to have an easy-going fun-filled day and 10 Bridge Street ticked every box. Our guests had a ball and were so complimentary of the venue both during the ceremony and celebrations in the evening. The party pair option was exactly the style of meal plan we wanted and it helped create the festive mood we were looking for along with the stunning food that was such a hit.

The Bianconi
Killorglin
31/03/2026: We didn't stay at the Bianconi, we had dinner there and omg it was amazing. Large portions, great service. The food was superb. I left feeling stuffed. It's rare to get great quality, great service and good portion sizes in the same place. Would 100% recommend it. Would also recommend booking in advance as our first attempt at the weekend they were fully booked.
10/03/2026: Rooms I've given 5 stars ,we didn't stay here we only ate here.
As our local doesn't do food on Mondays this time of year we travelled to killorglyn for a birthday meal.
We ordered a burger meal and a steak meal. The burger one was ok. The steak was over done I'd asked to it to be pink in the middle it wasn't.so it was a tad dry but relatively tender, you get a choice of one extra, I chose creamy mash , it wasnt creamy at all. The steak was garnished with tomatos on the vine and mushrooms, all rather unimaginative. The sauce I chose was brandy and ( can't remember) it was a very small amount but tasty.
The staff are quite knowledgeable about the food ,but I saw not one smile and personality seems also to be lacking. We had a Guinness and pot of tea, our bill was €77 I feel rather steep . Although the place itself is appealing ,the welcome isn't . I imo think the staff need to be retrained in the art of welcoming and cheerful.

Kingdom 1795
Killorglin
20/03/2026: This restaurant gets so much right- it makes it a great destination to plan a break around. The evil genius that is the chef, who can dream up perfectly balanced combinations that you can still recollect weeks after, keeps on delivering. I had a quail sausage with a a Cooleeny cheese & shitake mushroom fritter, that was by far the best starter I’ve ever had.
02/03/2026: UPDATED 2026: We returned for our 3rd visit--first time under the new management and we had another exceptional dining experience. Lovely front of house service and delicious and beautifully presented food. We enjoyed the Waygu and tenderloin entree very much and also the monkfish. The ravioli appetizer was gorgeous and incredible as was the venison one with a lovely parsley "couronne". Desserts were excellent particularly the chestnut mousse. While we missed the previous chef's sourdough bread the bread and crackers with mushroom mousse and seaweed butter were very good. We will be back!
PREVIOUS REVIEW
We had an absolutely divine dinner at Kingdom 1795 last night. The food was beautifully presented, original and each bite sheer pleasure. We were actually nearly speechless during courses we were savoring each bite so carefully. Original combinations (such as scallops with broth of pork belly and peas) which worked incredibly well with balanced flavors that made each ingredient shine. I loved my turbot with violet artichoke, shitake and sea lettuce with a beautiful delicate sauce. My husband loved his beef tartare and lamb. The desserts--rhubarb choux with burnt meringue and cheesecake ice cream as well as the caramelized custard, fried dough and herb sugar (zesty lime and perhaps thyme on a bed of cream) were incredible and beautiful to look at. And the BREAD--a gorgeous sourdough and brown bread were the best we have had. In addition Suzi and servers were all so nice and helpful (hard to choose with so many enticing menu choices) and the restaurant is a beautiful relaxing space. We can't wait to be back!

Kingstons Boutique Hotel & Pub
Killorglin
09/11/2025: wonderful apartment, perfectly located. tasty breakfast, friendly staff. would definitely recommend and will return.
16/10/2025: Hello,
It's a shame that for our last stop we were disappointed by our stay at your hotel.
On your advice, we had booked through your website (confirmed by email from you) that breakfast was included. "Tom," I believe, refused us breakfast for the next morning. We had until 9 p.m. for dinner, and we arrived before 9 p.m. You told us the kitchens were closed so we could enjoy your famous pizzas.
Finally, the room was very noisy, the window did not at all insulate from the noise of the road next to a very busy road!
A shame about our last evening, a bad experience.
Night of October 14-15, 2025
I'm not used to reviews, but our travel planner advised us to let you know about our disappointing visit.

07/03/2026: Wonderful pub restaurant with lots of choice and very helpful staff. Great prices too. A real gem !

Chicken Zone Takeaway
Killorglin
19/04/2026: We order some chicken wings and burgers occasionally after some trips or something. Usually the food is freshly made especially if they recognize us as regulars. Today my fiance got some disgraceful chicken wings which were half wings, he got 18 instead of 20 and some messy burgers, not the first time. Are you serious? Are those even wings??? not to mention the burger dressing... Garbage...
Ps. My fiance didn't check the food because he trusted them, only saw what he got at home.
12/04/2026: Betrayed by Google reviews. Ordered a doner kebab. The lamb was very low quality. I had tiny bits of bone in every bite. Couldn't finish as it was so off putting. Flavour was ok, shame

09/11/2025: Lovely food and location, staff are very helpful also.
Highly recommended.
04/10/2025: Just had a wonderful BIG birthday @ this amazing restaurant. Can't say enough about the venue, the staff, & the atmosphere.
It was a finger food buffet, which was delicious but more importantly the function room was spacious & allowed all my guest to mingle & catch up with old friends &
family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The buffet was exactly what we wanted. So all around a marvelous party.

Apache Pizza Killorglin
Killorglin
12/03/2026: I must say while passing through, we spotted for food and it was pretty good.
Busy spot which is always a good sign of good food.
25/10/2025: We had orderd food from most of the local menu on the app, we normally get the pizza but tonight we said we would try something else, I also had a burger deluxe which was OK, the donner box was a disgrace, chips where stone cold and meat colder than normal , we had a curry which was very watery!(best term I could use) the separate order of chips where also cold, goujans where dry but rest of food went to the food bin. Yes we got delivery but we are 3 minutes away in the town but I was watching the app from delivery so not sure how/why it was so cold.As regulars very dissatisfied and disappointed food has gone down.

Sethu indian
Killorglin
15/02/2026: We used to happily drive 40 minutes each way for Sethu Curry House, it was that good. It was our “worth the drive” place. Sadly, under new ownership, it has become a “should’ve stayed at home” experience.
Last night, we brought my parents for what we expected would be a reliably divine meal at Sethu Curry House. Instead, we left 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering having received nothing but a meagre portion of stale poppadoms and dips that looked suspiciously like they’d already toured another table before reaching ours.
During that hour, we were treated to a greatest-hits remix of: “10 minutes", “Just more 10 minutes”,“5 minutes”
“Definitely 10 minutes.”And, as we stood up to leave… “10 minutes and it will be ready."
...All spaced artfully across 75 minutes. Olympic-level time optimism.
The restaurant itself was close to empty(unless you count the takeaway orders stacking up and waiting just as long), so the delay was baffling. On arrival, I had to request a new side plate because the existing one had visible, scrapable dirt. The ladies’ toilets smelt strongly of urine, the sink was dirty and grimy, and the room had clearly not encountered antibacterial spray in quite some time. Overall, the place felt grubby and neglected.
I ordered a mixed grill with raita, only to be told they no longer do raita. That seemed to set the tone — anything requiring freshness is off the menu. Neither the waiter nor the menu could provide allergen information, which in 2026 is astonishing.
We eventually left because, frankly, we no longer trusted that anything arriving from the kitchen would justify the wait.
It’s genuinely sad. Someone has taken what was once a gorgeous, consistently excellent restaurant and managed to run it into the ground in record time. I would not consider returning.
The only redeeming part of the evening? We crossed the road to Quinlan's Seafood Bar and were served beautiful, fresh fish promptly, in an immaculately clean setting, by lovely staff.
Silver lining secured. But what a disappointing Valentines night, especially with visiting parents.
31/01/2026: Very good service
Naan breads well made but cold
Tarka Dahl = so, so watery, & tasteless.
Enjoyed starter veg platter.
Cold venue, ambience non existent.
Very , very disappointed & could not honestly recommend.

Dream Chinese
Killorglin
05/04/2026: I've visited a few times while in Killorglin. Always hoping to get a clearer read on this place, I still haven't managed it.
The staff here are genuinely lovely and always pleasant to deal with. No complaints there whatsoever. Portion sizes are also seriously impressive, the price is on the slightly higher side, but the amount of food you get does reflect that, so fair enough.
The problem is the food itself and how unpredictable it seems to be. Every visit feels like a dice roll. The food can be delicious, mediocre, or sometimes just simply inedible. There's no pattern to it that I can identify, which makes it hard to recommend with any confidence.
My suspicion is an ingredient substitution issue. When they run out of their usual stock, they seem to swap to noticeably cheaper or lower quality alternatives. The chips are a good example, they have a go-to frozen chip that's actually quite good. But when that runs out, whatever replaces it is obviously a large step down. The same issue crops up elsewhere in chicken dishes too. Could be the product, or could be the freshness. Even the sauces can taste totally different each visit, again not sure if its a substitution issue or just how long what they're serving has been sitting out for.
It's perhaps understandable for a small family run restaurant managing costs, but it directly affects the dining experience in a way that's hard to ignore. I'd be much more likely to come to spend more money here if they were willing to spend more money ensuring they're consistent with the quality of the ingredients they use.
There's a genuinely good restaurant in here somewhere, but until the consistency improves, I can't give it more than 3 stars total.
02/04/2026: Very good take away the food is excellent and the service is good.

Jack’s Coastguard Restaurant
Killorglin
01/04/2025: I decided to bring myself on a solo date for dinner in Jacks. It was daunting going solo but I had the loveliest experience. The waiting staff made me so welcome and were attentive without being invasive, the food was lovely and they accommodated a special order. It was made even more special by the magical piano playin of JP, a pure joy and a gentleman. JP plays here Thur- Sun and OMG is he worth the visit to hear. Oh and the view from the restaurant onto the sea is AMAZING. I will be back again for sure, again and again.
