Butcher in Kilkenny

To all the team, We are still marvelling in you all! We had our wedding dinner here (our REAL one!). And 45 guests left ecstatic! We know how hard the hospitality/restaurant business is at the moment but we both agree that we could not fault anything from start to finish. From the initial meeting with yourself, to you agreeing to open early to accommodate us, the warmth and kindness on the day and of course it goes without saying, the quality of the food and service. Everyone is still talking about it! For people that love their food it was always going to be difficult for us to trust anyone to host our wedding meal but you all looked after our nearest and dearest in such a wonderful way that we will be forever grateful so thank you!

Absolutely fantastic, best steak I've had with the exception of my own, the one thing I could be critical of is the sweetcorn in the salad, it doesn't represent itself well with the rest of the excellent robustness of the salad, Sticky toffee pudding was yum, staff are very busy so I can overlook them having to ask ifi need anything else etc... it was rammed when I was there.

Always look forward to coming to Kilkenny so we can go to Butcher.

This place was recommend to me so I tried it out o my god the food was excellent I had a steak and it was done exactly the way I asked it to be done and the restaurant was busy the staff was very professional in there job i will be visiting the restaurant the next time I'm in kilkenny

If you like steak then don’t pass this restaurant a great lively atmosphere the place was buzzing when we arrived. Good cocktails as well and a hands on owner who also is an expert on premium Whiskey which is always a good sign 😀 Will definitely be back on the next visit to Kilkenny

Excellent half roast chicken, which was tender and very tasty. However the beef bourguignon was extremely disappointing. The meat was very dry and tough to the point of being almost inedible. Overall a mixed experience.

My wife and I lucked out and got a table on. Saturday night without a reservation. The place was packed and seems very popular. They have a varied menu with an emphasis on steak. I had a chicken dish, roasted vegetables and a beet salad. It was excellent. My wife liked her steak and vegetable side dish a lot as well. Service was excellent. It’s easy to see why this is so popular as we had a great dinner.

We were recommended to try Butcher while in Kilkenny and glad we were! We ordered the fillet and a cowboy steak. Both were cooked perfectly and the garlic butter on each was to die for. We also ordered a side of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes mixed with some of the garlic butter was spot on. The mac was good, but I do think it could be improved with using large elbow or small shell noodles instead. The aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful and modern. Reservations are needed, especially on a weekend. If you find yourself in Kilkenny looking for a more elevated meal, highly recommend Butcher!
