Campagne in Kilkenny

Excellent food and service. Thank you for a great meal.

This is a fancy Mitchelin star restaurant in Kilkenny with beautifully decorated portions and imaginative ways of cooking the food. The service is attentative and nice. The price is a good value for what you get (it's a 3-course set menu, lunch is more affordable than dinner). We really enjoyed the experience, though personally I felt the atmosphere was "lacking something" - that could have been just because we had a late lunch setting and the place was quite empty.

Delicious food and they have a baby changing table which is very thoughtful. Not all Michelin star restaurants are as baby friendly.

What an enjoyable evening. From the moment we entered the restaurant, everything went ultra smoothly.. Service is impeccable. After an aperitif, pheasant soup with chestnuts was delicious and very savoury. My venison main wasn't perfectly cooked and our bottle of Italian red was a great match. Dessert was an apple Tarte tatin.. I had waited 5 years to visit this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Company was excellent too.. All in all, a great evening..

Starters for both: foie gras was excellent. Mains: fillet of beef and venison. Probably the best Fillet I have ever had. Partners venison was very good. Dessert: salted caramel parfait x2 and an Irish coffee. The parfait was excesively salted and a let down for the amazing food which had come before it. Presentation was also poor. Irish coffee was perfect. Staff were friendly and attentive, but not overly so.

Pay attention! The trick is the flavour build up. My main was monkfish, cavolo nero, paimpol (?) beans, charred octopus, a seaweed butter emulsion and a piece of soft marinated fennel. Individually, grand. In combo, super. Very clever cooking, nuanced but big impact. Enjoyed very much. Service lovely and personable, but not as detailed as you'd expect for 1*, better dish descriptions and attention to wine service would be good.

Worthy of the ratings great good and service a well delivered and thoughtful menu

The food was nice, but the portions were very small. Staff were friendly but a little overly attentive. The price was a little over the top I was expecting the decor in this place to be top notch it was only ok, seats where not overly comfortable. Overall the experience was OK we had fun the night was made us having a laugh

Wonderful end to a fantastic day spent in Kilkenny. 3 course early bird menu represents tremendous value, though full menu not a great deal more. Loved all my 3 vegetarian courses, the salad of datterino tomatoes, aubergine, burrata, basil and olives starter was to die for. So fresh and full of flavour. My meat eating son equally enthused over each course. Nice, relaxed atmosphere and made very welcome by Brid.

Excellent food, friendly staff, great restaurant. Highly recommended.
