Captain Americas in Dublin

Food is nice in here and we come here everytime were in Dublin. Only negative is the 2 flights of tight stairs up to restaurant which isn't easy with a pram and young kids

food was just ok. service was terrible. Restaurant was busy but only one person behind the bar and we had to wait 20 mins for our drinks. ps I am not blaming the barman he just needs more staff as lots of customers were having cocktails.

Disappointed with our recent trip to Captain Americas Grafton St. They’ve replaced the menu with something that looks like it belongs in a fine dining restaurant so there’s no longer explanations telling you what everything is and it’s not in keeping with the look or feel of the place. They’ve also done the same to the kids menu so they no longer give them one on a sheet with games and things to colour; they too now have a formal, unappealing menu and nothing to do while waiting. We hope they’re not going to try to go all upmarket; right now its like they’re sitting on the fence trying to decide but veering towards a fancy steakhouse vibe. Something else that didn’t appeal to us this time was that the chips were all cooked in salt, even the kids ones. If people want salt it’s on the tables and they can add it themselves!

Great burger joint with a long history and great chicken wings. It’s gone down a bit recently, the soft drinks were only splashes for €4 and no lemon. The new menu doesn’t describe the topping on the burgers which makes no sense! We had to google them. Patchy service.
