Went for a last minute Saturday lunch. Had the crab and the Dover sole washed down with a lovely glass of Chablis , all absolutely delicious. It was my first visit but it won’t be my last. Would highly recommend

A bit out of the way on the south side of the city, but this place is worth the trip. It’s a combination of fishmonger, grocer, and restaurant—an unusual combo, but it works really well. We had crab claws and duck liver to start, followed by a bone-in turbot steak that was simply prepared and cooked just right. Finished with a chocolate-orange mousse that wasn’t too heavy, just a nice way to end the meal. The place has a relaxed vibe, friendly service, and it was nice to catch the sunset around 9pm after dinner (during summer months).

First time back here since they moved a few doors away from the old location. We ordered a few things to share and they are all tasty beautiful dishes in generous portion. It’s rare that I ended up loving everything on the table! Highly recommend

Great value for money, very good service (just a little bit slow), super friendly staff, mega fresh and savory fish, lovely and authentic atmosphere. I highly recommend it 🙂 I was there with my wife, children and in-laws and all of us loved it

We had lunch here today and we are still talking about the food this evening. It was a birthday celebration and we enjoyed every bite. The scallops, the prawns, the haddock and the Brill were unbelievably delicious as were the chocolate mousse and date and toffee pudding complete with a candle and a rousing Happy Birthday from the lovely staff. Peter Caviston stopped by for a chat. He’s such a good humoured man and it was lovely to see him looking so well and elegant as ever.

Copper Alley Bistro

21/05/2025: It's not a very atmospheric place, but more of a formal restaurant. It's a bit pricey for the dishes they serve. The stew is very good, but the rest of the dishes didn't impress us. We particularly disliked the Baileys cake. The best part is the service: very polite, attentive, and even speaks Spanish.

Arthur's

10/05/2025: Very good fish and chips. Friendly staff
10/05/2025: I heard about Arthur's but until now never tried it. Well, that was my mistake. What a great place. The place was quite full for a Thursday evening, but the atmosphere was just perfect. A happy buzz but the staff just made it perfect. Aoife was way beyond brilliant, and the Monaghan man helping her just made for a very special evening. The food was top class, a seafood chowder and bangers and mash with excellent pints of Guinness hit the spot perfectly. Prices were reasonable. Then upstairs to a truly memorable night of excellent Jazz. My advice, don't pass Arthur's.
