Fabulous food and delicious choice

Cavistons is a guarantee for seafood, but this time the service exceeded expectations. The fritto misto and the monkfish with gambas and mussels served with a bisque sauce were fabulous, but Jonathon’s attention and care were a wonderful surprise. Such a warm welcome, combined with excellent quality ingredients, will definitely bring us back soon!

We ate here last night, excellent food and the service was friendly and professional. Good advice from our server, apologies I didn’t get her name, presentation and quality of food was superb.

Cavistons has long been a favourite, but since moving to the new location, something has been lost. The atmosphere feels quite different from the original, and personally, I preferred the charm and character of the old venue. On the food front, the seafood was generally good, though the oysters were a little off — not quite the quality we were expecting. The service, unfortunately, was where the experience fell short the most. We were a group of five and were seated at a table by the stairs, which was far from ideal. When we politely asked to move to a corner table that was clearly available, we were told this was not possible. That kind of inflexibility is disappointing and left a sour note on what should have been an enjoyable meal. With a bit more attention to hospitality and customer comfort, this could easily be a much better experience. Hoping to see improvements on the service side.

After a nice wander around the Dun Laoghaire Sunday Market, we popped in here for lunch last Sunday and had a lovely experience. The seafood was fresh and beautifully cooked, the service was warm and friendly, and the views over the sea were fantastic. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and tasteful décor. We had a great afternoon and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful lunch at Cavistons Restaurant. I had mixed fish, and it was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was amazing, warm and relaxing, and the view from upstairs was gorgeous. Definitely a place worth visiting in Dublin!
