Sublime food in a beautiful setting. Every dish was superb. Great produce and perfectly cooked fish. Recommended

What a fine restaurant. The quality of the fresh seafood is only matched by the Hospitality (yes, they put the capital H back in Hospitality) of the staff. Definitely a must if you value seafood and great service.

We had dinner at Cavistons recently just a couple of things the overall experience was of a lovely cosy restaurant. The fish gratin could have been maybe a bit hotter and also more gratinated possibly flashed under a salamander for a minute or two. The curry veloute on the plaice main was a bit coarse too much curry powder it kind of overpowered everything, the john dory main course was perfect. So i'm trying not to be too nasty in the review we eat out a lot and notice everything! Some bread at the start would have been a nice gesture and also some cloth napkins, the staff were very attentive and pleasant.

Ah the delightful Cavistons. Such a pleasure to enjoy a seafood dining experience here (there are meat and vegetarian options galore too). Evident commitment to client satisfaction, friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable table staff, really good sommelier, fresh local produce, flavours that tantalise....... if you can avoid the distractions of the day in your head and pay attention to your taste buds! Cavistons will tickle your fancy and trumps most restaurants on this side of town. I recommend often and reports back consistently "great"!

The restaurant interior is beautiful, the staff are friendly but I found the food to be average, both the starter and particularly the Tagliatelle to be flavourless

The place was lovely and the 3-course fixed menu provided an exquisite dining experience. For the most part, the staff were friendly and pleasant. Regrettably, there was a minor disappointing incident. As one member of our party had to leave early and did not have time to enjoy the dessert, we asked for a box to take away. The waitress's response was less than courteous, and we were informed that they needed to locate a suitable box. After several inquiries and much waiting, the box was finally produced with expressive displeasure of the waitress. In addition, we were charged €3 for this service. For such a renowned establishment, this experience does not align with the level of standard expected.

Had a lovely dinner at Cavistons on Wednesday evening, myself and my partner had the crab and prawns starters both fabulous and the steak and seafood pasta dishes as mains. Everything was delicious and the three course menu for 60€ each was well worth the price for the quality of the food. The service was perfect, our server Niamh went above and beyond! Can’t wait to be back
