Beautiful Seafood with friendly service

We had a fantastic dinner in Cavistons last night. Great early bird menu, and extensive wine list. Gorgeous light streaming into the upstairs room (dual aspect) with stunning views on one side. Excellent fish starters and main courses. Super service from Jonathan and his colleagues. Definitely coming back soon

Really excellent seafood, great service both upstairs and downstairs (different decor in each) and staff are young but very good, reasonably priced too for the quality of the food. Highly recommend. Been there a few times now and always very good.

We ate here one evening a couple of weeks ago. After a good starter we were left waiting, and waiting...and waiting... for our main course. Ridiculous. After over half an hour we started to ask where our food was, and had literally requested the bill for the starters and said we were leaving after almost an hour's delay when our main courses finally arrived. That being said, the reason this review is not a one star is that both our sole and our lobster were absolutely excellent when they eventually made it to the table, redeeming the restaurant and ensuring we left in a somewhat better humour. As I don't like making life difficult for local businesses I'd actually left a similar review the next day in private mode on the booking platform in the hope that I'd get an acknowledgement/apology, but as they didn't bother, I decided to post this publicly so they're more likely to take on board the need to step up their customer service to a level of quality that matches the food and the prices. To be clear it seemed to be a kitchen problem rather than a wait staff issue.

My favourite place since I was a child has been shopping with my Mum. We were with my Mum, who is 97, in September. My youngest sister, who's celebrating her 60th, my youngest brother, his wife, and their eldest daughter were there. We phoned on the off chance there might be a table, and when I say, we had the most wonderful food and time. It was Class.

Went for my birthday was my 1st time here, had a half lobster and oysters& shared some crab claws I had gone out especiallyfor the crab crossaunt but was enticed by the lobster But im sorry i got it, should have stuck with the crossaunt. the oysters however delicious, like butter but the lobster unfortunately was overcooked I assume it was because it was the half shell so maybe it was hard to time but the meat was chewy. The crab claws where also over cooked and didn't slide off the bone like it should do you had to work for the meat.:) .. the lobster claw was a bit better.. but it was disappointing as a whole... the staff where lovely.. I can't really judge the atmosphere as it was pretty empty.. which i thought was a bit odd for a weekend.

Great fish restaurant. Everything was excellent - from the wonderfully cooked halibut to the tuna tacos and really tasty roast potatoes !
