Chestnut in Ballydehob

What a treat! We planned our trip to Ballydehob around visiting this restaurant, as part of our honeymoon, and the tasting menu was a stand out dining experience! The space is cosy and well designed and the staff were warm and attentive without being overbearing. The food was phenomenal, perfectly cooked and I will be thinking about soke of the courses for a long time to come. Great use of local produce and the plating was also superb on a range of interestingly textured pottery and stoneware. They also adapted easily to dietary requirements (lactose intolerance/dairy free) which can be rare in fine dining/tasting menus.

What can I say it is a destination restaurant owned and run by the loveliest and most competent people. You can't put into words how well curated and designed the food, ceramics, decor and service are. 10/10

Restaurant Chestnut was a once in a lifetime dining experience. We did a tasting menu and everyone dish was delicious and deliberate. The staff was attentive but subtle. The music was romantic, the bowls were even beautiful! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! This was the perfect end to our honeymoon!

Every course was so beautifully presented and thoughtful. There were some creative combinations which were incredibly delicious and we’ve never seen them anywhere else. Plus the team work so well together and are so knowledgeable - it made the experience really pleasant, thank you!
