Budds
Ballydehob
08/03/2026: Must try!! Best ingredients from West cork on a plate. Had the Ballydehob eggs with Salmon. Incredible flavour 🧡 Matcha Latte 💚 With family and their food was wonderful also.
04/01/2026: This is a great place to stop on your way to or coming back from the westerly extremes of west cork. Great food and coffee that tastes like coffee. Mince pies to die for. Keep it going!!!

Kalbos Cafe at The Uillinn
Ballydehob
05/03/2026: I got a coffee & a croissant. It was all good & I can recommend going there.
21/10/2025: I'm a regular and loyal client of this cafe. Here you may find delicious coffee and desserts. There is a cozy outdoor courtyard and small shop with treats. I've ordered tasty bowls many times to take away and have lunch at Ludgate Hub. Thank you dear Siobhan and Anthony for the consistently highest quality!
Eugene from Ukraine.
See you at Kalbos! ;)

Chestnut
Ballydehob
23/03/2026: A wonderful experience with friends.
The quality and finesse of the dishes were remarkable.
Cooking and flavors were perfectly executed.
The wine pairing was excellent value.
The dessert was outstanding, as was the mushroom and langoustine appetizer.
06/03/2026: The tasting menu was phenomenal. Every course was great, and several courses — a preserved strawberry sorbet with a pepper foam palate cleanser; a langoustine and caviar bite; an incredible rice pudding with rosemary sherbet dessert—were amongst the best dishes I’ve been served anywhere in Ireland. Service was warm and superb, and the space is cosy and charming. Very worth a journey to try it, the best and most interesting meal I’ve been served in Ireland in years.

Bally Bia
Ballydehob
02/12/2025: We took some takeaway from here a year ago.
Since then, every time when we think “If you could have anything to eat, what would it be?”
10/10 times it’d be the chicken tenders from this place.
Thank you for changing our life 🙏🏼
27/09/2025: Quick bite on walk back to accommodation. While waiting for my food, spotted some of the food that was coming out of the kitchen, looks top and tasty. One of the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time. Nice meaty bit of fish in a light crispy batter. Chips skin on and crispy with tartar sauce. Polished away!

Antonio's
Ballydehob
13/05/2026: for anyone looking for decent Italian food, avoid this place.
such a huge disappointment indeed. we drove 4 hours here for the festival and from the minute we walked in there was no so called proper service at all. the waitress with glasses was being so rude that we didnt even finish ordering, as per other reviews, her attitude was justified. such a bad touch for this village.
the food, another joke, we had never have such a bad pizza in years, both in ireland or italy ,it was all premade dough and topping that tasted like supermarket defrosted pizza, never ever seen raw huge chunk of tomatos on a pizza instead of sundried ones. ( this is true)
italians might hate this place for real.
More to note-
1.Busy because of the Festival? First of all, it was not busy in the restaurant when we arrived, it was actually the quietest restaurant in Ballydehob that time of day. The lower ground is totally empty and there are plenty of tables when we walked in.
2. The waitress with glasses was tapping her fingers or pen while we ordered and said she would come back after we placed a pizza , while we were still talking and flipping the tablet for their menu. Is that not called “Unprofessional”?
3. the way the owner replied was just very disappointing too, i wrote reviews only if i came across very good or very bad places i had been, so no other customers will ever encounter what i had, i am one of the top 1% reviewers on Tripadvisor and i won't bother to write this much if it is not the real case.
4. As for the pizza , no comments , you might be right about whatever you are saying on the ingredients, but bad pizza is bad pizza. It’s not hard to recognize.
Period.
12/05/2026: We requested a quiet table in advance of travelling from Wicklow to Cork. When we arrived we were seated at a small table near the entrance, despite having seating available in quieter areas.
The lady that served us, in my opinion should not be in a customer facing role at all, her mannerism was very cold and dismissive. When taking our order she would repeatedly walk away from us. We were handed a tablet in which to view the menu, when I pointed out that the tablet was unresponsive she left the table and said she would return when we were ready.
Luckily I was able to check their menu on my smartphone, at this stage I wanted to walk out solely because of her behaviour. The only reason we did not do so was due to the fact we had drove for over four hours and were hungry. There were not many other choices readily available in any case.
We wanted to order dinner and desert, but when trying to order the desert the lady dismissed me and said she would take it later.
When asking for ice for the sodas we ordered we were told "we dont do ice".
The entire time we tried to eat and relax the lady just stared at our table closeby. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience, genuinely the worst service I have ever experienced.
The pizza we had, honestly is on par with a frozen pizza, very bland. Judging by the responses, they are making to reviews they are unwilling to take responsability for their poor attitude towards customers.

Duggans Restaurant
Ballydehob
07/05/2025: What can I tell you about this place that the walls won't tell. This restaurant is an epitome of the struggles, highs and lows of a family business who have paved their way to make it.
I had chips, battered sausage and a home made chicken fillet burger. Sensible choices i should say. While my friends made their own options (not entirely wise :D). I found the prices really competitive and economical and a better burger than Ballybia.
The service was exceptional and is cut from a different cloth that you don't find in our generation. Sure it isn't a high dine and it might take a while on a mental weekend but that was never the expectation either.
The stories that we got to hear and your warmth truly left us a lasting impression.
One thing I say is money can't buy history, culture or tradition and this place checks all three. Thank you for feeding us and your tips on getting a stain removed from a white top.
We'll definitely stop by the next time we're in Ballydehog.
Much love
