Clayton Hotel Cork City in Cork

Nice hotel room very good spotless and quiet.Food not great. Breakfast usual fare food supposed to be hot was cold . No butter me we had dinner also very poor mine was cold and very very small portion No residents lounge.

I had a wonderful stay at Clayton Hotel Cork City. The location is perfect — everything in Cork is within walking distance, and the hotel has excellent facilities including a pool, sauna, and fitness centre. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with lovely views and everything I needed. Most importantly, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. I contacted the hotel in advance with a small request, and they kindly offered me a room even better than the one I booked. This really showed how much they care about their guests. Overall, I highly recommend Clayton Hotel Cork City for its great service, comfort, and fantastic location. I will definitely return on my next visit to Cork.

We got a free upgrade because the hotel was full and had a beautiful executive room on the 5 floor, with a great view of the river and Cork. The breakfast area was a little disappointing and I think would be nicer if the window blinds were raised even though there are only buildings outside. The service team looking after the breakfast area could be a bit more motivated. Scrambled eggs and cheese, were gone half an hour before the end of the breakfast times and weren't refilled.

A very nice hotel, located was excellent, central to everything. As a Irish person we tend to over look certain things when staying in hotel, but a little bit of Touching up is needed in the carpets on the hallway, they need stretching or taped up otherwise some may trip over and try to take advantage of such things. But that's just picking at stuff. The staff where fabulous and very friendly, the breakfast was amazing buffet, and again staff were excellent. I think they should have biggest signs about parking as the hotel dont have parking but the do have a discount door guest which I found out late, but they couldn't do anything snd neither could the carpark about over charges, ( which don't make sense). But again I must say this didn't put us off going back.

Reception lady on when checking out was not nice when asked her to update the invoice title. Room overnight can be really hot. The room temperature cannot be adjusted. Waiting time to be seated for breakfast can be long.

Lovely hotel. Food was very disappointing on the Mother day Brunch set menu. Overpriced for the poor quality food- very tasteless. It was a shame as I hear their day to day food is great.

Aside from the clerk who checked us in being abrupt and everything was my fault, did not make things easy. My husband is an early riser & still suffering a little bit from jet lag, went down the next morning to the main area to find coffee. There was a young man who was extremely helpful and gave him some coffee even though breakfast wasn't quite ready to be served. A little later that morning, my husband complimented the young man to the same clerk that checked us in. She went on and on about how he shouldn't have done that and how she was going to have to "instruct the staff" not to do that again. Geez... she would not shut up about it. My husband, thinking that he was doing a good thing by complimenting a staff member, felt absolutely awful that he may have gotten that young man in trouble. There was a different young woman during breakfast, who got to know my husband. She was awesome. By the way, the breakfast buffet is phenomenal! The service in the main restaurant was not good. After sitting there for about 10 min., we finally had to flag down a woman to get service - to just get something to drink. And the restaurant wasn't busy with maybe 4 other couples there. The tea I ordered was just water - there was no tea, and it took forever to get the food. The food, once we got it, was good. Then we had to try to find someone to get our ticket so we could pay for our meal. When we tried to charge it to our room, the young lady said we couldn't charge to your room. I went to the front desk to the same clerk that checked us in, and she said, "You didn't give me a credit card." My response was,"You didn't ask for one." I was just too fed up to say anymore. The room was great, but the beds and the pillows are incredibly hard. Nothing fluffy to them. The housekeeping staff was very nice and helpful.

Solid hotel with good breakfast. Top location in the center. Underground car park directly below the hotel. The ladies at reception are friendly and helpful.
