I enjoyed a Monday evening Trad session and delicious Irish stew a couple of weeks ago while visiting from the US. It was fantastic evening! The food was delicious, service was perfect and everyone was so friendly! The music and singing was just beautiful and I hope to visit again one day!

Lovely bar and lovely pints. Food looked good also. Landlady terrified our three person group talking quietly about new order tunes could morph into a full blown 15 person stag party at any moment. Quizzed five times on this. General bar staff v friendly though, elders should learn from their evidence based approach

20/08/2026: Such a lovely place for lunch! 🥰 Arán has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service. I especially recommend the Italian toast — absolutely delicious and full of flavour! 🇮🇹🥪. I’ll definitely be back! ❤️
19/08/2026: A must of you're visiting Kilkenny! If you're planning to eat in the bistro, we'd advise planning your time and booking ahead. On one side of the road is the bakery - so much choice and drinks too. All the pastries looked amazing! We are in the bistro - amazing chai latte and Korean Chicken Wraps...cannot recommend them highly enough - delicious!

The Pumphouse

30/09/2026: Look at the wall! Apparently it's art created as part of a town public works project. It's totally Cartoon Saloon-esque. Cheers to the medieval streetscape, modern murals, and Irish music!
11/09/2026: The bartender, Kevin is witty, friendly and so much fun to exchange with. He's a fan of Quebec's (Canada) Angine de Poitrine and greeted us with their familiar triangle handsign. Had a blast and wished we could stay longer in his town. Thanks again for the toasties!
