Conneely's Cafe in Oughterard

27/04/2025: We read the reviews and thought it sounded good. So glad we booked dinner here- it was everything and more we’d read! It is a small enough space so would recommend booking during touristy season, but for a small space, it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff, led by Jonnie was super friendly and knowledgeable. Jonnie was the perfect host-you can tell he is passionate about food and chatted amiably with the various guests. His wife is the chef in the restaurant and creator of a wonderfully diverse menu. My husband had mussels and a hake with chorizo for main, while I had my eye on the desert so opted for 2 starters, although the portions were very generous for both starters so barely had room for the excellent brownie. I picked the tasty chowder and a really yummy warm goats cheese salad. Will be back for sure! I had a glass of wine and my husband had apple pie. Dinner came to €80-we had both expected it to be higher as the quality was so fresh and tasty and portions were decent, so we were very happy with that experience.

13/04/2025: Stopped off here randomly today. The perfect cosy place with homecooked food 😋 10/10 for us. The chowder is a must and the spicy beef special was delicious. Loved this place. Excellent 5 * service 👏 we will be back 👍
