- it was slow, we waited 30 minutes for our food even though they were the specialty ++/- it was good and filling, though the toasts served with the soup were fridge cold 😕 -- I'm used to tip for the quality, but apparently in that restaurant the service is not included, so the waitress ask you for more (damn, that's not the US here 😠). That was not appreciated.

A full Irish breakfast is highly recommended, enough to get you through the day until dinner.

We found it by chance and it motivated us to go in... it did not disappoint, very friendly service (including several Spaniards), abundant and very tasty dishes, the mussels were delicious and the fish & chips too, the fish was perhaps a bit dry for my taste but the batter was very good.

The price was in line with the city, but everything we ordered was very well prepared, presented, and had a spectacular flavor.

Right across the street from the Viking museum Dublinia, in the heart of Dublin's city center is a pleasant little bistro called Copper Alley. We ate lunch there when we hopped off the bus to explore the area near St. Patrick's Cathedral. The interior was bright, airy and inviting. We were seated right away and were provided a menu of upscale Irish favorites with a few twists thrown in. My twist? Korean fired chicken wings that were packed with flavor. The combination sweet and spicy sauce seeped into every crevice of the fried coating which was cooked to crispy perfection. I haven't had better fried wings anywhere. And, their desserts were off the charts good. If you want a warm, friendly spot to grab a tasty bite in the heart of Dublin, check out Copper Alley Bistro.

Four of us showed up without a reservation. They kindly let us sit in the lobby while we waited for a table to become available. The food was very good (we tried the Irish stew and burger), and the staff was friendly.

Ely Wine Bar

06/07/2025: I had the fish & chips special, which was delicious, along with a glass of cava. The two went great together. Also tried a mango / passion fruit tart, which was amazing! The place is cozy and the service is great. Had a lovely time!
04/07/2025: I saw the summer special for fish and chips and a glass of cava for €26 and decided to try it. The service from when we got there was great. We placed our order and the food was out in under 10 minutes. 2 cods were on the plate but I’d say the star of the dish was the tartar sauce never had anything like it and the fish was super crispy. 10/10 would recommend and the cava pairing worked really well!

Herbert Park Hotel

16/08/2025: The hotel is located in the embassy district, away from the hustle and bustle, but still close to the city center. The rooms are spacious and clean. Our bathroom only had a shower, although all the others we could see from the hallway during cleaning had bathtubs. One star deducted for the pathetic takeaway breakfast we requested during a day trip. I felt it was too little for the money, as it only included two pieces of fruit and a muffin.
14/08/2025: We were contemplating to stay more central location or Herbert Park Hotel till the last moment, and were glad with our final decision. It is a bit away from the downtown, yet maybe due to the distance, quiet and peaceful. We walked to the downtown, which took less than 30 min. There is a nice beach nearby and was perfect for my morning run. Also, there was a farmer's market at the park on Sundays! The room was spacious, so as the bathroom. I liked the nice deep bathtub. We stayed mostly at B&Bs during our trip to Ireland. Luckily it was not too hot, yet when we were back to Dublin, A/C in the room was a nice addition.
