Dick Mack's in An daingean

A unique pub. Take in their shelves of great whiskey… or are those great walls of fire? 😄 Ask the barman to show you the historic stone wall outside behind the pub. It may have originated in the 1500s, the result of what happened after the Desmond Rebellion. In 1569, the residents of Dingle requested a "murage grant" to build walls around the town, but were unsuccessful. After the Spanish and French tried to aid the natives against the Crown, the peninsula was raided and ravaged by British forces, and Dingle was burned for a third time during this period by the Earl of Ormond. After the rebellion was crushed, Queen Elizabeth granted a royal charter to make Dingle a walled town. This allowed the town to be incorporated as a borough, the first of its kind in Kerry. The town's street layout and some traces of the walls remain, preserving the pattern of burgage plots. The old wall behind the pub may be a part of this.

Really nice quiet pub. Certainly pop in for a look. Staff were good.

If you like pubs with endless character and a great bar then this is s pub you shouldn't miss. There's a parking lot directly across the street since street parking is very tight.

Cheapest bar in Vienna. Ambience takes some getting used to but only young people and good vibes!

Had an amazing evening at Dick Mack’s. Lovely people working there who gave us tips for all the best local spots for the rest of our road trip. Great beer too and a very lovely old dog who kept us company. Shout out to Patrick who served us!

Dick Mack's was rather busy when we stopped in. The rooms were strangely arranged and seemed incongruous as the seating around the closed second bar was ok and the rooms were otherwise occupied. The brewery out back was not open, but the craft beer was otherwise good.

Great spot for a few drinks. Amazing decor and friendly staff. Live music also brilliant. Lots of seating inside and outside. Accommodates large groups with plenty of space. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back soon for a visit.
