Traditional Irish pub full of character . Excellent service, prices the norm for city centre pub. Much bigger than it looks with plenty of interesting momentos on the walls. If in the area highly recommend a visit. A very busy pub

Looking for a bite while in Dublin, we stopped at Doheny & Nesbitt at the recommendation of our hotel staff. Glad we did! The Cottage Pie was excellent and I will be working on a recipe now. The restaurant staff were very helpful when we had some trouble locating a table and put us in a great spot.

A classic pub with beautiful paneling and ceilings on the ground floor. Illuminated whiskey bottles at the bar. Only the countless TVs bother me when no one's watching them. The bartender recommended a great whiskey, and the live music was nice.

Another Irish institution 😁🇮🇳
This local area is full of wonderful places and this is one of them.
Fantastic looking. Pub. It’s big.
Great entrance that builds you up for the inside.
Busy but still got a table.
Plenty of choice for beers.
“The usual please” yes a Guinness for me please.
Ladies had a cider 😁
Band playing great Irish music so what’s not to like.
Another recommendation 😁🇮🇳🏴

Shout out to Maeve behind the bar after the women’s minimarathon yesterday who was outstanding taking two-three drinks orders at a time when we couldn’t get any other bar staffs attention. Thank you Maeve

Old school Dublin pub... but €7.90 for 0.0% Heineken is not cool. 🤨 €9.90 for glass rioja... 😬

No question: five stars.
I asked the hotel concierge if he had any local recommendations. He asked, “What kind of food?” I said, “Irish,” and he could barely get Doheny & Nesbit out fast enough. We walked through St. Stephen’s Green, peeked at a few spots on Dawson Street (even thought about grabbing burritos), but we decided to keep heading toward Doheny & Nesbit. That was definitely the right move.
First off, fun fact: this isn’t just one pub, or two, or three. It’s six bars all stitched together like some kind of glorious Victorian maze. Seriously, I half expected to turn a corner and find they’d secretly added a seventh while we were eating. The walls are lined with history, old photos, and plenty of charm, if you’re into that kind of thing, it’s worth wandering around.
We had a great server team: Sean and Brenda. Solid, friendly, kept the pace rolling. As for the food? Total win. The cottage pie was packed with flavor, and the gravy had just the right touch of sweetness to balance the savory. I ordered the chicken burger (basically a fried chicken sandwich), and adding both the jalapeño salsa and red pepper mayo made it seriously good. The onion rings were crisp, the goujons (yep, chicken fingers) were spot on, and everyone in our family of six agreed we’d happily come back.
Funniest moment of the night? I asked Sean if they had ranch, and he laughed, saying you’d have to find a pub that does American fare for that. I asked what they usually put on salads, and he just smiled and said, “Salad dressing.” Cracked all of us up.
They may not specialize in American salad dressings, but when it comes to the music they were playing? Oh yeah, they definitely nailed the American playlist.

Great bar for a beer and dinner. We had fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly and very flaky,

Def recommend this place. Loved the vibe. Even though it was busy, service was great and attentive. Live music was fun. The fact that there are multiple levels takes it to another level in itself. All the drinks variety you can ask for

This is a great traditional pub to visit in Dublin. The staff are super friendly and the selection of beers is very good (even though I have no idea why you need anything also but Guinness in Dublin).
The food is good if you’re looking for a more informal dinner or bar snack.
Loads of history and feels like you’re stepping back in time.
Well recommended and a go to place when in Dublin.
