Dromoland Castle in

We came here with an organized tour. 33 people. This was an experience we won't forget! Had never slept inside a castle before. I would love to do this again.

I am speechless??? I love a classy, upscale stay, but this was otherworldly. If anything else ever tops it, I'm convinced I'll have died and gone to heaven. The service was the best I've ever experienced. Richard greeted us cheerily and carried in all our bags, valet parked our car, and happily retrieved a few small items we'd left in the car door and brought them to our room. We were given a full tour of the room, and my boys were *thrilled* to see candy and stuffies waiting for them on the bed. At dinner in the Thomand, Matthew commented on the view from our room and greeted my boys by name. We were seated and cared for as though we were royalty. They surprised us and brought chocolate cake, complete with a candle and "happy 9th birthday" beautifully written in icing, and the server sang to my son during dinner! We were driven to and from the pool in the adjacent building whenever we wished, the rowboats on the pond are complimentary to use, and our falconry experience with Jack was a once in a lifetime experience we will treasure. Of course the castle and grounds itself are enchanting. A winding drive past gnarled, aged oak trees and a glistening pond set the tone for the stunning castle set behind them. It's beautifully furnished, landscaped, and decorated. The rooms strike a lovely balance of functionality, class, and welcoming warmth. I hope another Dromoland stay is in my future. :)

Dromoland Castle is a perfect place for a real "get away from it all" experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated with friendliness and professionalism. The common rooms and restaurant spaces are all beautifully decorated, and very, very clean. Our room was also beautiful, and spotless. The grounds are wonderful, offering plenty of space to roam around. I strolled through the walled garden - in February - and they already had some blooming primroses and peonies. The skill and care that goes into maintaining the whole place is fantastic. We also had signed up for several activities - falconry, archery and clay pigeon shooting. David, who helped us with the shooting and archery, was friendly, very skilled and endlessly patient with us. Jack, the falconer who took us on the hawk walk, seemed to know everything there was to know about raptors, and shared so much joy in the animals with us. We ate at both The Gallery and the restaurant. Food, drinks and service were amazing throughout, with special kudos to Dan at the bar. He is a skilled craftsman who gave us delicious drinks and made us comfortable. The included breakfast is bountiful, offering something for everyone to enjoy.There was live music at night too, very good local musicians in the Gallery and a harpist in the restaurant. Unlike many venues, the music was not too loud, so could be enjoyed without shouting over it. Dromoland Castle is not cheap, so will only be a limited treat for most. However it really provides value for money, and so is worth the expense for a truly classy, fun and relaxing experience.

Five-star experience overall. The team across the property were welcoming and professional, including the staff assisting at the entrance and with room service. A few observations that may be helpful from a returning guest’s perspective: Restaurant & Breakfast Feedback 1. The pancake and French toast portions were one lonely pancake or one lonely piece of toast.. Enhancing presentation, portion size, and overall execution would better align these dishes with five-star standards. There is an opportunity to elevate these items so they feel more distinctive and memorable (see pictures of food served at Cafe The Lark Terenure for inspiration if needed) 2. An iced coffee should ideally be served with ice. Additionally, reviewing the coffee beans or equipment could further enhance the overall coffee offering. 3. The breakfast buffet selection could benefit from a stronger sense of freshness and visual appeal. The pastry selection in particular might be expanded/refreshed slightly. While not a major issue, it is an area with room for refinement. Bar Service On a few occasions, incorrect tonic water was served with gin and tonics. A brief refresher with staff on tonic varieties would likely resolve this easily. Highlights • Excellent green and orange juices, thoughtfully prepared and presented. • A very good full Irish breakfast with particularly flavorful sausages. • Fresh breads, including wholemeal and banana bread, were very enjoyable. • The Spanish-style tomato omelette looked especially appealing. Overall, a highly enjoyable stay with only minor areas that, if refined, would elevate the experience even further.

A great experience. Staff very helpful and friendly. A little bit expensive. A place to relax and unwind .lovely walks and if your lucky you might see a red Squirrel.

From the moment we arrived we were treated with elegance and professionalism. Richard saw to our luggage, showed us to our rooms, and explained everything to us. Rita checked us in and went out of her way to accommodate our sleeping arrangements. The entire experience was so refreshing and beautiful. Highly recommend Dromoland Castle.

Wife and I visited Ireland for her 40th birthday. One of our stays was at Dromoland Castle. Super nice place, great staff, beautiful scenery. I went out and played 9 holes on the golf course, which was a treat in itself. Highly recommend!!!

EXCEPTIONAL WEDDING VENUE! Dromoland served as our romantic dream destination wedding venue. They provided exceptional service that surpassed what we could’ve received in the States. All of their recommended vendors were amazing making planning a breeze from across the pond. Our friends and family still note this as one of the best weddings they’ve been to and everyone would love to visit again soon. Absolutely the best! ❤️ Thank you so much!
