Durkin's Bar & Restaurant, Guesthouse & Square 1 Cafe in Ballaghaderreen

We were travelling as a large group and stayed here for a night in August (as part of a six-day charity cycling event). We had a fantastic time. Eileen and the rest of the hotel team were extremely accommodating throughout our stay, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. From storing the teams' bikes, to providing delicious food, we had a great time and can thoroughly recommend staying here.

We dropped in spontaneously and were immediately given an incredibly warm welcome. Even though it was incredibly busy, the team kept checking on us to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything else – truly fantastic service! The food was more than just good, simply delicious. The Guinness was perfectly poured and creamy in the glass – exactly as you'd expect. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the only thing missing was a small hand towel. Overall, though, we absolutely recommend it – we felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

We were in Ballaghaderreen for the Arts Festival and stayed in Durkins. The rooms were great, the food was excellent and the staff and owners were the most friendly and attentive I’ve ever seen- we were looked after so well. Durkins is well worth a visit !

Welcome back Durkins! Stayed during the wonderful Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival and really enjoyed my stay here. Terrific service and great location-you can walk everywhere in town.

Wow! What a delicious meal!. The vegetable soup and roast turkey and ham were some of the best we had in all of Ireland. The server/bartender was top notch and very pleasant. We'll definitely be back!

We had a really lovely stay at Durkins in one of their family rooms. The rooms were clean and comfy. My sisters and I are vegan and they were so accommodating and kind, both for dinner and breakfast. The stuffed peppers were delicious, with flavours of caramelised onion and a delicious tomato sauce. Sounds basic but was really flavourful. The vegan full Irish was delicious and again the blonde lady couldn't do enough for us, making sure we were looked after well. Thanks again to the lovely staff and chef. We would definitely stay again!

Absolutely fantastic experience with Durkins, who catered our recent christening! From start to finish, the service was top class—professional, friendly, and seamless. The food was nothing short of exceptional. The curry and stew were both absolutely delicious—flavoursome, hearty, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Everyone at the event was raving about the food! A special mention has to go to Eileen, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Her attention to detail and warm manner really stood out and made the day even more special. Highly recommend Durkins for any event—top-notch food and brilliant service! Five stars without a doubt.
