Great service, and outstanding food! The atmosphere is cozy. We were comfortable, well fed, and pampered, a truly fantastic dinner experience! We loved eating upstairs where they had open windows.

A flawless evening. We were extremely well taken care of from start to finish. I would like to give a special mention to Giovana for her professionalism and kindness; finding such a polite and person-centered service makes all the difference. Furthermore, the kitchen deserves praise: the meal was beautifully prepared and the service was remarkably fast.

Popped in for the rooftop bar in the afternoon and the service was very slow. We would have ordered food but it took forever for them to bring up drinks and then they never came back.

20/05/2026: A grand hotel, except we were so disappointed when myself and my wife and our adult son arrived back from a show around midnight and were refused a night cap drink in the bar by a very ignorant bar man who informed us that we could order a drink in the hotel lobby but we would have to wait 30 minutes. Then the girl at reception told us we could only order drinks from our room. We did so and our drinks arrived in 15 minutes and paid the exorbitant price of 42 euros for 2 whiskeys and a pint of Guinness. I should say it left a bitter taste in my mouth about the staff and service in this hotel.☹️
19/05/2026: We had an excellent stay. The staff on reception were fantastic and very friendly. The room was fantastic. Food was excellent. Highly recommend the house burger. Staff in the bar/restaurant were fantastic and very friendly. Breakfast had a wide selection and food was fantastic. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Highly recommend The Talbot for a fabulous stay.

The Pepper Pot

23/05/2026: A lovely spot for midweek breakfast. Raspberry scone was very good and vegetarian options are vast. Spiced yoghurt dish with fresh bread and poached eggs was divine and protein forward for vegetarians. Good latte. Ambiance was calm and friendly. Fast service. Order first then grab a table as directed. Check out the shops afterwards.
21/05/2026: Lovely spot, scone lovely. Wasn't mad about the Turkish eggs, too much yoghurt but tasted good. Good coffee, lovely sourdough bread. Food quality is good here
