Fishy Fishy in Kinsale

Wonderful restaurant from start to finish. Service was excellent and the food was fabulous. The hake was prepared very well and the fish and chips were nice although not the best I had. However the seafood soup was exceptional Good wine list also. Very welcoming place with excellent food.

Fish & chips were great. Service was friendly, responsive, and they easily accommodated a group of six without a reservation. 😊

The brown bread to start was delicious and to have the butter wrapped in wax paper like sweets was a lovely addition. The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted so fresh in both the battered hake and fish pie, the mashed potatoes that came with the fish pie were loaded with just the right level of butter, delicious. Great flavours in all the dishes.

Been here many times. Its always good. But this time it was great (upped its game ?). 3 adults and a baby so went early. Warm welcome from the Maitre D and the servers all excellent. One of our party gluten intolerant but no issues with the menu and plenty of options and a willingness to adjust if required. Wine excellent. Food memorable. The fish pie !!! €280 for three including bottle of wine and tip. Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere as the place was only starting to fill by the time we left.

Top notch seafood and a comfortable atmosphere. The waitstaff was friendly, helpful and efficient. However, there was a shift change while we were there that we were not informed about and it seemed we were forgotten for a short time she had to ask did our bill.

Wonderful fish and chips. Definitely worth a try. Deserts can be skipped. The chocolate desert we ordered was bad. Outside seating has heaters.

Great service and atmosphere but the food was very overpriced for the quality.

Want a great place to get fresh seafood, this is it! However, it is very difficult to get a table downstairs without a reservation. However, we wandered around and up the bend to a little pub (The Blue Room) which actually is upstairs and was empty! We were able to get a table for 8 and although we had a little bit of a wait for food, it was well worth it. The staff below will not tell you that you can go upstairs and get served which is why the service was rated lower…the service upstairs at the pub was superb!

Overpriced for what you got - delicious but could go to nicer places for the same price
