Just spent few hours in this pub myself/ brother as train from Dublin to mayo was delayed great crack great buzz with locals bar staff friendly and helpful up athlone

I stopped there one evening with some friends; nice live music and a friendly welcome are guaranteed. They probably have the best Guinness there, too. 😎

Poppy Fields Cafe

15/12/2025: Wonderful little cafe with warm service and delicious food. I had the French toast with bacon and thoroughly enjoyed it! I didn’t try them but the desserts at the counter also looked divine. Our server was very kind and attentive - would gladly recommend and go back!
17/11/2025: Great place to eat on a busy day. Good variety of food and dessert. Indoor and outdoor seating, great staff, affordable, and allergy friendly. Close to perfect 👌
