Great spot to experience. Wonder out back to the outdoor area to see how neat this place really is.

No food in icon of a pub… tremendous atmosphere!!! Slow pace… great to unwind with a pint !!
Also is a hardwork store !!!
If in need of a snack or food it’s all close by!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Quite a unique pub. Several separate rooms with original stone walls and even an alleyway. Towards the back, a courtyard open to the sky where smoking was permitted. Plenty of room for us tourists and lively locals to meet.

Foxy Johns was on my list for Dingle. (Thanks to Rick Steves and a few YouTubers!) Stopped in for a pint with my wife and three sons. It was packed in the front, but one of the bartenders acknowledged me and got back to me in a couple minutes. I sidled up shoulder to shoulder to an elderly man on a stool at the bar. We smiled at each other and I leaned in and said “That's the price you pay for a good seat.” He winked and raised his glass. (Perfect Pub Moment.) We found a table in the back room and played Uno with some other patrons. Loud, and chaotic, but we loved every minute of it!

A very original pub, it used to be a hardware store and still retains some of its original features. Live music and a great atmosphere.

As I walked in, I half forgot why I was there, was it for a beer or a box of screws?
In Australia, you can go to the hardware store for a sausage sandwich, but being able to head in for a beer was next level.
Foxy John's bills itself proudly has having a rare dual function of being both a hardware store and a bar, but to be fair, I saw no one buying hardware when I was there.
Forgive the one star for the food, I don’t eat or see others eating while I was there. But if you’re after a drink, this place definitely has those.
The bar was full of people perched up, enjoying a drink and a chat, I ordered a Guinness, making sure I skulled the first one, and quickly decided I needed a Foxy John’s t-shirt. This is so when I get back home, people will know how cool I am.
John Prine’s classic “Angel from Montgomery” was playing at a nice volume over the chatter of the patrons.
I quickly ordered a second beer and sat down out the back with our group to debrief on the highlights of the trip to Dingle and Doolin.
We’d seen some sights, feed some baby lambs, bought some funky wool socks, and enjoyed some excellent food and whiskey - and now we’d found a quiet spot for a beer and a de-brief in a unique Dingle institution.
You come here for the character, the story and probably for a t-shirt. Some people we’d chatted to in Doolin said we had to visit “Foxy John’s” if we were in Dingle, so we did.
We enjoyed a pint and a chat and left in search of sustenance. Bunnings in Australia could definitely learn a thing or two from this hardware store with a twist.
