Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork

Nice place for a beer when you are thirsty. Not a crammed pub space. Has a nice patio with a pizza place (Pompeii Pizza), next to the brewery tanks. Different beers on tap. Friendly people.

It's not a remarkable place, it's a random bar, it does have a good open space, and I think they sometimes have Irish music, but when I went at 8pm it had already finished.

The place is great, really cool, the beer is excellent, and the pizzas are delicious! They make them fresh, the crust is perfect… and best of all, they have a really nice terrace with plenty of blankets to snuggle up with and enjoy a beer outside in the cool shade. They also have board games, and it's very cozy. Really cool!

Good pizza (probably the best I had in cork) and pint. The dough is to my liking, long fermentation, airy crust, and topping were plentiful. Pints were fairly priced and well poured. The friendly bartender gave us samples and good recommendations on IPAs. Came in a Monday early afternoon. Music in good volume. Covered outside area; no wind and a bit of Sun. Nice atmosphere. The only negative I found was the tables were a bit dirty (sticky) and toiled not smelling particularly good 😂. But oh well.. 🤷‍♂️

So glad this place was on our list. Great selection of well kept ales, beautiful freshly made pizzas and very friendly staff. Highly recommend you pay these guys a visit.

We visited the Franciscan Well with friends over the weekend while they were visiting from the UK. The Brewery tour we booked was interesting and the lady that explained everything to us was really informative (I can't remember her name but she was from Kerry !) The beer samples went down a treat and obviously we ordered a few more pints following the tour...the stout went down very well...!!! There is a great choice of Craft Beers available as well as the Stout.! The Pompeii Pizzas which are freshly made on site, are amazing, and the choice of toppings were very enticing....!! We ordered a mix of different pizzas, and we all said they were some of the best we have had, so fair play to the pizza team there..!! The setting is very nice with a cosy bar inside and a great seating area outside with heaters available for cold days..!! All the staff were very friendly with great customer service all round..!! We highly recommend the Franciscan Well Bar...put this on your list of "must do's" when in Cork...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great little place and lively atmosphere however it gets super loud in the evening. Come before 6 or 7 to catch a seat
