Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork

One of our favorites spots in Cork. Go early or very late, as it gets crowded during prime dining times.

The pizza is incredible!!!! Beer and vibes are greet!

The tables were dirty, dishes weren't cleared, and it was very noisy outside. But what disappointed us most was the pizza—burnt black around the edges, extremely thin, and piled high with tomato sauce, so it quickly became soggy! The taste was also bland—a shame and not worth the €12-15 price tag. The beer was good.

We visited Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork and it was a highly recommended experience, especially if you enjoy craft beer and places with character. The place has a lot of charm because it's built on the former site of a Franciscan monastery, which gives it a very special atmosphere, particularly in the beer garden area, which is spacious, welcoming, and perfect for spending a pleasant time. As for the beer, they have a wide variety of craft beers (IPA, stout, lager, etc.) and you can tell they're made with care. Being able to see part of the brewing process right there in the brewery adds a special touch to the experience. We also tried the food, which is another plus. The pizzas, baked in a wood-fired oven, are very popular and delicious, ideal for pairing with beer and sharing. The atmosphere is lively, with good music and a very authentic vibe, perfect for going with friends or for a quiet drink. It's a little outside the city center, but it's definitely worth the trip. Overall, it's a great place: good beer, delicious food, and a historic atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Cork. I would definitely go back.

Nice place for a beer when you are thirsty. Not a crammed pub space. Has a nice patio with a pizza place (Pompeii Pizza), next to the brewery tanks. Different beers on tap. Friendly people.

It's not a remarkable place, it's a random bar, it does have a good open space, and I think they sometimes have Irish music, but when I went at 8pm it had already finished.

The place is great, really cool, the beer is excellent, and the pizzas are delicious! They make them fresh, the crust is perfect… and best of all, they have a really nice terrace with plenty of blankets to snuggle up with and enjoy a beer outside in the cool shade. They also have board games, and it's very cozy. Really cool!

Good pizza (probably the best I had in cork) and pint. The dough is to my liking, long fermentation, airy crust, and topping were plentiful. Pints were fairly priced and well poured. The friendly bartender gave us samples and good recommendations on IPAs. Came in a Monday early afternoon. Music in good volume. Covered outside area; no wind and a bit of Sun. Nice atmosphere. The only negative I found was the tables were a bit dirty (sticky) and toiled not smelling particularly good 😂. But oh well.. 🤷‍♂️

So glad this place was on our list. Great selection of well kept ales, beautiful freshly made pizzas and very friendly staff. Highly recommend you pay these guys a visit.
