Freddy's Bistro in Limerick

We were visiting Ireland for our 25th anniversary and stayed in Limerick for just one night as we traveled all over the country. My husband found recommendations for Freddy's on Google, so we popped in, not realizing we needed reservations. The hostess tried to squeeze us in but they were all booked up, so we asked her for a recommendation and she suggested the Spit Jack just a few blocks away and we ended up having the BEST meal if our trip! So I wanted to say Thank you!!! Although we didn't get to try out your wonderful sounding menu, we were very grateful for you trying to squeeze us in and for your suggestion of a wonderful place for dinner!

Had a great family meal 6 of us. Everyone loved the food. The service was perfect. We were able to ask for hake with no salt or oil or butter and veg with no butter. Vegan food was so tasty, and the dessert was amazing. I have been here years ago and it's still a top top restaurant. Everyone was very happy we chose this place.

Had a birthday dinner here last week with 10 guests. Excellent in every way. The staff were fantastic and the food was perfect and on time for every course. We will be back 👍

The food was divine, the table service was top-notch, and the wine selection was good. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and elegant. However, due to an unfortunate restaurant policy and inadequate communication capabilities, the evening was marred by being told that “[you’re not worth our time” upon arrival. (€75.50 bill) The restaurant doesn’t take tables of one. When my guest canceled, I followed the restaurant policy and texted the number provided, but the restaurant informed me they didn’t receive it. I was seated but understandably allotted only an hour of the two-hour reservation. A monitored email address would be preferable and more reliable since it would notify if the message couldn’t be delivered. Additionally, the table of one policy seems a bit inappropriate considering they’ll seat other tables of three or five; empty seats are empty seats. Such a wonderful restaurant and opportunity for dining experience damaged by a breakdown in electronic communication and customer service.

Excellent food! I ordered the lamb shank and was happy with my meal until I tried the pork belly that my husband ordered which was amazing. Both of those were topped by the sticky toffee pudding which was amazing! Great food and service!

Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food. A highlight restaurant for Limerick.
