Super friendly service and lovely food

First time visiting and will definitely be back. The menu has something for everyone and it was very hard to pick one item. I had the steak sandwich and my husband had the Guinness & Beef stew. Both were absolutely amazing, so favourful. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and made sure we were set with everything.

Its a beautiful old Irish bar ,the Guinness is top ,it's oldie worldy, the bands that pas in to play a few numbers ,are amazing . What a great craìc at Gerties . Breakfast is excellent, by the way 😋

Gertie Brownes - what a divine place near the Shannon River in Athlone. Atmospheric pub and restaurant with a fab menu with choices to appeal to anyone. Our food was delicious, the service was friendly, the beer was spot on !! This quirky little place is so worth a visit and no matter which little nook and cranny you look at, you will find something to make you smile. For us, the icing on the cake is that Gertie's is pooch friendly so we will definitely be back. Gertie Brownes gets Minnie Mayhem's paw of approval !! 🐶🐾💞

If you are looking to have a really nice Irish experience this is the place, the place is amazing, the food was delicious and the service was incredible, the people here are so kind and made us feel welcomed 🫶
