Popped into this place after an evening on Keem beach. We were met with great atmosphere, welcoming staff including the owner and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back! It is worth a stop to get a snapshot into a classic Irish pub, they don't make them like this anymore!

Decided to drive all the way over here because of the "most western EV charger of the continent of Europe" and complimentary EV charging when dining in. As I've read in the reviews when planning my trip up front from home. I called in to make reservations. Cool place. Friendly staff. You have to ask the staff to start the charging for you using their badge. It doesn't take any other NFC tag. The charger is to be found left of the restaurant against the wall. It offers two chargers. My Tesla Model Y charged at 10 kW which provided 13% of battery charge while we were having dinner. Very nice offering. Food quickly provided. Food was quite okay. Not the best ever, but certainly decent. Clam chowder soup being the best. Expected a bit more from the mussels but they were still okay. Tasty crunchy chips and free sauces.

The service felt like home. Thank you for the great hospitality. It’s close to awesome holiday destinations. I recommend it!!

Fabulous food and service. €38 for tempura and seafood batter fish & chips and a chowder, plus a pint and half of Guinness. Free EV charging if you have a meal.

My husband and I went out to Keem beach. On our way back though the island we stopped here for a late lunch. We had a Brie, bacon and onion panini sandwich and a few pints. The food was delicious and service was good. It is a great little stop for lunch or dinner if you’re out in the far west part of Achill.

A very cozy restaurant where we enjoyed delicious espresso and Irish coffee as well as the most delicious brownie and carrot cake. It was a poetry of taste and the atmosphere overlooking the ocean made us not want to leave there.

We went to Gieltys just because it's marketed as the most Westerly bar in Europe, thinking it would be a bit of a gimmick but WOW what a place. You feel like you've been welcomed into someone's home for dinner. Our server was just a delight and I wish she was my family😂 (I'm going to call her aunty as we didn't get her name). Aunty has been here for years and remember when it was just a tiny little place - her house was "5th on the left" - so she's seen all the changes and it hasn't wearied her as she seemed genuinely happy we'd come to visit! The food was truly excellent, none of this tourist rubbish because you know everyone is a one-off visitor. The portion sizes were huge but somehow we managed to scoff it all (plus dessert lol). My seabass was perfectly done, all three fillets. The olive tapenade was a great accompaniment, as was the buttery mash and veggies. Our view was lovely, the Guinness creamy (according to the husband) and the chit chat after at the bar with aunty and a local chap was so nice we've thought about moving here to retire 😊 A true Irish feel, welcome and vista.
