We went here after it was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The food portions are huge but food is delicious. We shared Chicken wings and then each we had the Chicken & Chorizo pasta, Chicken & Mushroom Vol-eu-vants and Seabass.

Had lunch here, it was good, really enjoyed the seafood chowder, and my partner had the fish goujon burger with chips which was also good. Had a blt sambo which was a bit bland but overall we were happy enough.

We shared a very good meal: fish soup and pasta with chicken and chorizo. It was impeccable. From the moment we arrived, we were very well received. Impeccable service. Very good food. Top quality. I recommend it.

Great hearty food, really friendly and helpful staff. Service was excellent. We had the curry and vol au vents and both were delicious. Nice view of Clare Island too! No frills type of place, focus is on great quality food and service. We'll come back.

We first went to Gielty's Clew Bay Bar & Restaurant simply because it was close to our accommodation — but it turned out to be a real find. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a table for the following night as well. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and impressively quick, even on a busy Saturday evening with a large family group seated nearby. The staff kept everything running smoothly without missing a beat. The menu is refreshingly different, with daily specials that go beyond standard pub fare. Standouts for us included the vegetable soup, the warm Brie, and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The mussels were also very good, fresh and nicely cooked. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to unwind after a day out. All in all, Gielty’s exceeded expectations — definitely worth a visit.
