Good for the Soul in Cork

This was my second time coming here and unfortunely both times there was some issues. The first we got asked to leave our table as our reservation time was up- which is fair enough as its mentioned on the website when booking that they only allow 1hr 10 but I was wanting to get a coffee and cake after our food and I felt we were rushed. We had been sat with empty plates for about 10-15 minutes in which time they could have been cleared and we could have been offered a tea or coffee. Today was the second time and it was very dissappointing. The service was so slow, we waited a while to be seated despite having a reservation and ages until someone came and took our order. Luckily the food did come out quickly. I ordered the corination chicken pitta and it was tasteless, there were wilted salad leaves that I had to pick out, there were only two bits of pickled onions in the sandwich which was the only thing with any flavour. I really regretted ordering this and the price was robbery considering the gone-off lettuce and a bit of chicken. The eggs with black pudding was good however and the addition of the apple sauce is a great touch. Afterwards we were fully ignored until eventually I got up and ordered our tea and 2 cookies from the counter. The cookies were very delicious and gooey and I have to say were the best bit of the meal. They did cost €9 for two however, which is a lot! Overall €45 was a very expensive price to pay for bad service and mediocre food :(

It was my first visit to Good for the Soul for a breakfast with a friend and it was an absolute treat! The food is delicious my only regret is that I haven't visited sooner. They have a whole bunch of vegan and non vegan treats, I got the banana bread while it was still warm and it's devine! Really good value and I can't wait to visit again 😊

First time i came here, I didn’t have a reservation and because i had no time to wait, I made a mental note to book for the next time. It seems like a busy spot. So this time i came in with a booking! The place doesn’t offer parking but there are ample of space in the carpark across the road. I was met by a lovely waitress, I sat outside (only three tables so don’t bet on al fresco dining -i just got lucky!) I have ordered Turkish eggs and iced latte. The dish was delicious and full of flavour. Fresh dill really bring the dish to another tier. Iced coffee was lovely, just what you want on a warm day. I was served quite quickly. Before I left, I used the restroom, it was clean and tidy, it was nice to see feminine hygiene products available for the customers in case of the emergency. All in all, great vibes, great choice on the menu and some baked goods at the counter. I will happily return for another delectable meal.

Small spot for coffee or healthy snack. Food is good but pricy for what you get. Usually quite busy, so mighty be hard to find spot to sit down

An all time favourite coffee spot of mine. Staff are amazing and so good at what they do! Definitely recommend booking if you want a table-they are deservingly very busy.

Good for the soul, not so good for the wallet. I went today, ordered an americano and a carrot cake, and I paid almost 14 €!! (13.90 to be precise). The Americano was ok, in the sour side of taste (I prefer bitter). However, the carrot cake was absolutely fantastic, delicious. I just can’t believe that I paid 7 euros for an ok coffee. Unfortunately, the pricey experience push down my sensations on this place.
