The room was advertised as having a king bed, but it absolutely was NOT a king bed. My partner and I could barely fit in the "king" bed we were given. Needless to say we did not sleep well. Beware of false advertising. Also, there was no shelf in the shower for personal items such as bar soap and razors, which is pretty inconvenient.

We enjoyed our stay of four days at the Absolute. It's clean, conveniently located near the major sights of Limerick's old city, and well-staffed with friendly, courteous, and helpful employees. My one down vote would be due to the noise level. Our room overlooked a well-trafficked road — the window of our room almost opened right to the road — and the noise of cars passing was more than a little disturbing. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend the Absolute as a place to stay if you're in Limerick.

Beautiful and well-kept hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. I loved the room overlooking the river. The terrace overlooking the river is lovely. Excellent, central location. Excellent breakfast prepared by the hotel's in-house restaurant, Harry's On The River, with top-notch staff.

We had a lovely stay here! Staff are very nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. We ate dinner and breakfast here. My mains were a bit dry but everything else was tasty meal wise. I'd recommend staying here when in Limerick.

A really good hotel , great food and location. Will definitely be going back. Edit, after a second visit, I was surprised to see the same torn and dirty nets in the rooms, desperately needing replacing. I did enjoy my visit, but a little attention to detail goes a long way.

The ONLY bad thing about this place is the parking. They have over a hundred rooms but only 20 or less spots. You have to pay (13euro/night) to park across the street in a tight garage. Very unfamiliar to an American because hotels validate parking if they don’t have their own, but it’s also uncomfortable leaving your rental car in a right garage across the street. Technically you can park in their hotel garage which is very tight so if you have to make U-turn in there and you’re not a very good driver then it might make you anxious. Anyway their garage is full by about 7pm. So if you plan on going anywhere and not having to cut your day early, then you’ll have to pay and walk across the street. If you can get past the parking situation the staff here are extremely friendly. Nicole at the front desk even gave us good recommendations to visit. The rooms are neat and attended daily. They have espresso machines in them. The view is wonderful from the room overlooking the river, the bathroom is very nice and spacious. Overall would I recommend to stay here? Yes I would.

Nice friendly helpful staff. Decent food. Prawn PilPil tasty and fresh Cod was cooked perfectly. Beef cheek melt in mouth, but sauce could be improved! Breakfast buffet was spot on.

The Locke

18/10/2025: Went for team lunch and it’s was great
16/09/2025: We really enjoyed the hour we spent today on a wet, gray mid-September afternoon having a cuppa and a ham sandwich at the outside tables of Locke Bar. The tea was just as tea should be — strong enough to trot a mouse across it, as the Irish used to day. And the sandwiches were well-made and generous. In addition, the young woman who greeted us inside at the bar and took our order couldn't have been nicer, and the woman who brought our tea and sandwiches to us was equally cordial and smiling. The interior of Locke Bar is classic pub, dark, lots of beautiful woodwork, gleaming spigots for dispensing Guiness and other beers. Altogether a first-rate pub in the heart of Limerick's old city.

Cornstore, menu

05/10/2025: Our first trip to Limerick and we booked this early for a Friday evening. The service was great, the food excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. We had salmon and bream beautifully cooked, fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours. It was so good that we booked again for later the next evening. Restaurant much busier and yet there was still great service and good food served promptly. A good selection of wines and cocktails. Overall the place has a warm, friendly atmosphere with a mix of families, friends and couples. Most importantly we could see how hard the kitchen and serving staff worked to deliver great food efficiently and with genuine hospitality. Worth every cent.
29/09/2025: On the last night of our holiday from London we ate at the Cornstore. We had a fabulous meal! The beef short rib and chateaubriand, prepared by chef Emil, were both delicious. Similarly, the desserts too. Not to forget the amazing bread! The atmosphere was friendly, laid back and polished. Our server was genuinely lovely. Thank you for a really good evening. When back in Limerick, we will definitely return.
