Great food, great service, reasonably priced with spectacular views of the bay. I hope to visit it again before we head back to the USA!

What an absolute gem of a find! We asked our guide during the Boat Tour to recommend a place that served fresh seafood, and without a thought he blurted out Helen's! After having visited this place, I'm likely to blurt out the same when asked this question.
We ordered 2 x Fish of the Day, 1 x Seafood Platter, and 1 x Mussels, alongwith a few pints of Guinness. Fresh and delicious food, great pour of Guinness, very warm service, and picturesque location.
If you are in the area, its worth a detour.

Nice little pub, with plenty of outdoor seating. They have a small menu; I had fish and chips – very tasty! A fresh little salad was served as a side dish. Very friendly staff! And the food was extremely affordable.

If you want a truly Irish experience, this is the place to be. Don't expect a luxurious room or fancy meals. It's the Ireland of 50 years ago. The atmosphere is fantastic and definitely not tourist-pleasing. The staff is super friendly, and here, what you see is what you get. It's located in a remote, enchantingly beautiful peninsula. It's perhaps the most beautiful in all of Ireland.

5 Stars!
Excellent fish and chips, pints of Guinness, pet friendly and the location, its just so easy going! So reasonably priced, €4.50 for a pint of Guinness! The view of the mountains from the pier is just stunning. We will definitely be back.

Superb setting and probably the best value food & drink in Ireland. Guinness & Murphys for example €4.50 a pint, and it was excellent.
The seafood platter was great, the crab in particular was as fresh as it could possibly be.
Young lads running bar were, fast and great craic.
The bedrooms are small but very clean & cosy, I would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and again, very tasty.
All in all, cost, location, quality and friendliness, combine to make Helens Bar an absolute gem

This place was AMAZING! Greeted warmly by Helen upon arrival - said she was HAPPY to hear an American accent! I can’t eat gluten - so out came the chef to tell me she could make me something! She made me pan seared haddock with mashed potatoes & vegetables- and salmon for my husband - I also had a bowl of vegetable soup - best meal so far in Ireland! To top it off Helen is proud to offer Guiness at the cheapest price in Ireland for €4.50
DO NOT miss Helen’s bar! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
