Great place for a drink. The owner is a fountain of knowledge on the history of Kilkenny and regaled us with stories of ancient Ireland. Well worth a visit if you re in Kilkenny.

Great little spot with great people. Bar is tiny, but great folks that were fun to hang with. Nice outdoor area. Owner was quirky, but great. FYI, This bar only accepted cash.

Beautifully bonkers place. Visit each year for gigs at Kilkenomics as they have a tiny upstairs venue. Oh. Cash only. Be aware.

What a great place! The owner was super personable and interesting. We visited from the Us and did it k ow a whole lot about Ireland and let me tell you, he and some other Irish gentlemen had plenty of history to share. It was a LOT of fun! 10 out of 10 recommend!

Our experience was SUPER. Michael is a very pleasant host....we truly had a unique surprising evening. We had the pleasure of listening and interacting with "Wrong Direction" , a local duet from Kilkenny who provided a true memorial evening. It was a blast.

River Court Hotel

16/02/2025: Went for birthday treat booked room with balcony and castle view. Half the day is gone, waiting for checking in. Then, to check into a room costing 260, that was absolutely basic, no hest, some mould in bathrooms, I did try my phone, but no phone worked or had a line , room was near a air vent made nose for the trip. Never again, 260 was not worth it. Did get lunch was nice. Left hair straighteners by TV wrapped in lead, but when I phones hotel they said no sign of it. Couldn't get room service and was told the kitchen closed 8.30 even asked any bar restaurant nope kitchen closed, yet served food till 9 heard next day. Was very disappointed with over stay as 260 for a super cold room with no services. Never again .
15/02/2025: Great hotel! Superb location behind the castle! Breakfast with a view of the castle Very quiet, very well located Quality ratio taken at the top.
