Food was good. We had to wait for 15 minutes for staff to take our order. I think the staff forgot us. Sitting at the corner is easy for staff be out of sight and out of mind.

Gluten Free Fish and Chips are what we came for. And they did not disappoint! The gf clam chowder was also delish (and I don’t even like clams.)
The servers and other cashiers were civil, but not very nice — and zero percent engaging. Seemed annoyed at having to attend to us (which they didn’t do a lot of.)
Totally worth it for the fish and chips tho.

If you enjoy fresh seafood, from classic fish & chips to refined fresh oysters, or the broad variety of seafood dishes in between, this is a choice place to go. The wide variety of seafood dishes is complemented by a choice selection of alcoholic beverages, such as beer and cider of local varieties, some even having nautical themes.
Pleasant coastal theme throughout, including an amusing big sliding door to the loos that has a pulley & rope system with a little pail for auto-closing, and a ship’s-wheel shaped door handle.
All in all, a lovely coastal seafood restaurant with pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and superb seafood. If fish is your wish, this place is quite the bountiful catch.
We visited Hooked Galway last night without a reservation and had a fantastic meal. We hadn’t eaten all day, so we went a bit overboard with the order and honestly didn’t regret any of it.
My wife had the seafood chowder and I got the fish pie. Both were excellent. The fish pie was packed with large chunks of seafood and felt really hearty. The chowder was also very good, although we thought adding potato would make it even better.
We also ordered the parmesan and truffle chips, which were delicious, but the real standout was the fish tacos. We ordered one of each as entrees and they were much larger than we expected, especially compared to what we get back home in Australia. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour and absolutely worth the €8–€9 each.
The oysters being served around us also looked incredible. Overall, 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Thanks Hooked.

When you visit Galway, you have to eat at Hooked!
The food was absolutely incredible!
Most people go for the fried fish and chips which looked delicious, but I would highly recommend the Chowder 🤤😋
It was creamy and packed with seafood.
The bread along side was yummy as well.
The prawn starter was delicious although a little oily for my liking.
The tiramisu was also amazing, massive portion I was getting full by this point, but I couldn't stop eating it 😆
Service was top notch, we were well attendeded to, even though it was very busy when we went.
Thank you Hooked for a delicious meal and a wonderful time 💚

Arrived in with a party of 8 from Galway Bay Brewery , the food and service were unbelievable. The fish is so fresh and tasty, also pricing is very reasonable as good fish isn’t cheap . Big thanks to Ester too who looked after us .
