Hotel Meyrick Galway in Galway

Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.

Right in the heart of Galway City and a quiet place where one can relax and enjoy a drink in the heart of Galway City and Right next to Eyre Square.

Central, clean and spacious rooms

Popped in for some lunch on 23/8/25 around 12:45pm. Came directly off a 2 and a half hour train, ordered some food, lovely polite lady server with glasses. Went to use the bathroom and upon washing my hands, a cleaner girl came in. I nicely asked her how to use the soap (I can be a bit dim) and she told me how. I thanked her but she didn't respond to that, not even a "you're welcome/no problem" - I brushed it off, no big deal. As I was washing my hands, she started cleaning the mirror next to me - I'd no problems there. I needed to brush my hair and needed to use the mirror in front of me. (The mirror next to me was in front of the other sink I wasn't using - two sinks and two mirrors in bathroom). As I took my brush out she just stood there staring at me, I nicely told her I'd be really quick and she stormed out of the room in a huff and puff. Absolutely out of order. I'm a paying customer, am I not allowed fix my hair for a minute? Never had such an odd, uncomfortable encounter anywhere haha. The toilets were quiet and completely clean so I double don't understand the attitude. Food was great though.

We met up with friends here on our last evening, we also met some guests and ended up chatting and having a laugh and some snacks, the staff were very helpful, its right on the square, and the decor is very nice, quite a long walk from the counter to the toilets, but very enjoyable evening spent here...

I had a good dinner and trifle for dessert to kill f or and a latte excellent service. I will be back next visit to Galway
