Il Primo in Cork

A good restaurant offering both traditional dishes and Asian and Italian twists. I had breaded cod with mash and vegetables, while my girlfriend had salmon and shrimp tempura. Like most Irish dishes, it was all a bit heavy, but still excellent quality. The fish was fresh and well-fried. The mash tasted a bit coconutty, which was a bit strange with cod, especially if you're used to Italian mash, but it wasn't bad. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We stopped here randomly, and honestly think it's a great place to stop on a road trip. The atmosphere was like a typical Irish diner with horse racing on TV. Not bad!

Had roast beef dinner, veg and potatoes very good, beef dry, cooked for too long, staff are very helpful

Once main course our server disappeared no service after that. Drinks and dessert ordered from another server never appeared. After 30 mins I had to go to the bar myself

Had a fantastic meal here on Sat night. Food was brilliant. Well presented and very tasty. Excellent friendly staff. Highly recommend if going out for a good meal. Bit pricey tho. But overall a very good experience.

Great food, service and location

I call here often, solo, with friends, or just walking a dog and looking for a takeaway. I'm getting old , love food but can't eat large meals. So yesterday breakfast in Kilkenny at 6:30am, busy all day, at 5pm I was ready for a pint, and something to eat. Sorry too warm for Guinness, "probably" had the best lager in the world (X2). Food. Starters Tempura Prawn and Salmon, and a side of Gratton Potato. More than happy, not just for this visit, but for the many i do when in cork

Steak is 10 out of 10, Perfectly cooked Fillet to Medium Rare, 15 times in a row, Perfection, the pasta is made in house, Parpadelle is out of this world, cannot complain about a single thing, And the Pint of Murphy's here is outstanding

Love this place, food is always great.

Ordered breakfast for 2 this morning. 31.90. Bill was 40.70. They charged extra for 2 cups of coffee. Seriously! Since when is tea or coffee not part of breakfast? Won't be going there again.
